Is it because most of the stars are so old, that their heavy make up and heavy flashy costumes are difficult to keep on for long periods of time? The route is shorter. Perhaps it's because the landing is closer to Skaggs Hospital in case any of the ancient stars have a serious health issue? (Of course, I'm kidding around!) My guess is that it keeps traffic flowing on Hwy 76. Anyone who wants to see the parade can be in one small geographic area and the viewers have to park their cars and walk on foot to where the parade will be.
