"Run for the Lights"
« on: October 26, 2010, 09:51:51 PM »
The topic of "Cardiac Hill" got me to wondering if anyone has ever done the SDC 5K race "Run for the Lights"?  I believe they do it on the weekend after Veteran's Day to coincide with the turning on of the Christmas lights at SDC.

This is actually "Run to the Lights" on Friday, November 12. While OTC starts almost a week earlier on 11/6, I should consider attending. After all, I've been accused of running up Cardiac Hill. Why not make a difference in the world ;)?

Okay, yes I live under a rock. With that being said, is this some type of annual marathon for some organizational benefit? Also, does it take place at the park itself, or somewhere in Branson? :)

It is at the park, benefits The Caring People. Registation is closed :( as it included free admission to the park (non issue for me, but cool for others).

I wanted to run it, but kept putting off the entry, and I missed my chance. I would still pay the entry fee, and have a season pass, so it is not much of an issue there....O well, maybe next year.

I could see myself attempting that but when it came to cardiac hill i would probly fall over from sheer exaustion roll down the hill and get trampled by others or knocking them down causing one big disaster at the bottom of cardiac hill

Okay, I guess I am still a little out of the loop, (or just plain slow :P) with all of this. Is the course completely inside of Silver Dollar City? Is there a website with all of the official information?  :D

You're welcome for the link.  I've always wanted to run in this too but the timing's always  wrong for us to visit that weekend.

I was there Friday evening, but not for the event.  I did see a banner on the square that said "Finish."

I'm completely not trying to be off color here, but as soon as I read what the run was called, I immediately thought of the movie Poltergeist.   :P
