General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Lost Season Pass
« on: August 09, 2013, 12:46:00 PM »
Well, I guess this thread can be closed now.  I ended up calling and finding out that I can just go to the park and still get a new one for no charge the 1st time.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Lost Season Pass
« on: August 09, 2013, 11:06:28 AM »
I have a SDC/WW pass that I cannot find.  I know in the past they would replace passes for free the first time, but I was told that it now costs money even the 1st time.

How do you get a new one?  I was planning to go to WW this weekend.

The Nativity has moved to Riverfront Playhouse!  :)

Speaking of the Nativity, why did they stop having Red Gold decked out like an old Bible times town with shops and such.  I always used to love walking around in there.

Wednesday before is not too crowded. My family has traditionally gone that day for years. It used to be really slow, but over the years has picked up some, but not too bad overall.

I was going to guess the mill, and I think all the places it could be have already been guessed.  I think there's some bottles like that stacked up at the exit to the Mine or Mill restaurants, but it's not that much.

Is it some type of jelly or jam?

The roadside advertisement is actually about 4 miles outside of Reeds Spring on 248/413 (left side of road) going toward Galena.  It is about 25 feet off the main road.

I was going to say that it was somewhere close to Reeds Spring.  I never exactly went on that particular road, but I used to go through Reeds Spring all the time to get to SDC before the new direct road was built going to Branson West.

Random Talk / Re: Where were you on September 11th 2001?

I was home sick from work.  I know I started watching the news shortly after the first plane hit, but I don't remember if the TV was already on or someone called or something else.  I do remember going to the doctor later that day and seeing people backed up at the gas station across the street.  Crazy.

SDC Memories/ Park History / Re: SDC Candy Shop Question
« on: September 01, 2011, 03:20:33 PM »
Little known fact:  The production platform is known as "Brown's Candy Factory" (probably including the basement too) since it is run by the famous Brown Family (yours truly is a part of).

The shop side of the building is called "Copper Kettle Candies"

Ha!  I knew I saw it somewhere!  I don't go to the candy shop that much anymore, but I'm sure I've seen it all the time (I just remember it from being a kid I guess more than I do from the recent past).

saladdays,  You can check priceline and Hotwire. but I doubt if your checking online you will find a better deal than we all get at eagles lodge/Homestay Inn.

For 40.00 including all the extras, you will be hardpressed to beat Paiges deal for us. :)

You are probably right.  But I did get the Radisson last weekend for $48 through Priceline.  ;D

Wasn't the candy shop known as "Copper Kettle Candies" even until at least the 80s or early 90s?  I could have sworn that it was called that when I was a kid.

It may be useful to look into using Priceline or Hotwire.  Of course, you may want to firm up plans ahead of time, as both of those places you would only get the best deals closer to the time of the reservation, but I would imagine there will be plenty of hotels that will be wanting visitors in October.

Construction/Rumors / Re: What's That?

So it was just put there recently?  If they did it now, you'd think it would be something that was going to happen this year, not next, or else they would just do it in the off-season.

Branson Talk / Re: Branson West McDonald's
« on: August 10, 2011, 11:12:50 AM »
The McDonald's in Springfield on south Campbell still has a kind of train theme, although some of the theme has been muted a bit since I was a kid.

I remember that at least one (maybe all?) the Wendy's in Springfield used to have the old-timey tables.  Not sure if that was a Wendy's thing, or a choice of the local restaurants.

Sanddunerider.....I apologize if I came accross as "telling you what to do".  That certainly wasn't my intention.  If you want to use your money to undermine your constituional rights that is certainly your perogative.  My intention was to inform (not tell) people with my shared values that by spending money at SDC they are contributing to a anti-second amendment orgainization......(possibly unkowingly).

It also rubs people the wrong way when you only have 3 posts, and all of them are on this topic.

White Water Discussion / Re: Trip to White Water planning

Depending on the day you go and the weather outside, you may or may not be able to easily find a canopy.  We went yesterday, and the weather was a bit rainy and cloudy in the morning, but turned out to be a nice day in the afternoon.  The parking lot wasn't even half full.  But we've gone in the past on days when it was difficult to find a spot in the shade at times.
