Probably right...I noticed in the past on weekdays when people get up, they check in...at work, they check in...and when they come home in the evening, activity picks up again, then, once more before bedtime. Just an observation. I noticed on weekends traffic usually gets real light.

Just curious...seems like activity on the site has been down, lately. Was wondering how many active users we have, and how many are visiting the site, and contributing to forums.

Intersection of Hwy 23 and hwy 62, it is an antiques store. When I passed by, the Gold Medal sign was outside next to the front entrance. The ice cream parlor signs were inside the shop in 2 locations, hanging on the walls. Bring cash, I seem to remember prices on all three signs of around $150. Perhaps if you buy them all he will give a little discount. Don't know.

There are several folks who added much to the forums and then something in their personal life changed and they drifted away. I will continue to encourage all to keep posting, and that includes comments, photos and videos. This is a friendly site, some others are not. Keep up the good work, folks.

In Rogers, AR the store is The Antique Rose. I cannot remember the name of the shop in Eureka.

Going through a flea market in Rogers, AR today I found a sign reading FRISCO SILVER DOLLAR LINE. It was an emblem taken from one of the old passenger cars, I'm sure. Not in too bad of shape, painted by hand on plywood, bottom of the sign was in rotted condition. Price, $33. No, I didn't buy it...but I wanted to. Just no place to put it. By the way, the Gold Medal Flour sign I mentioned in a previous post was still at the Eureka flea mkt. As recently as 2 weeks ago.

Ah, to be young and have no responsibilty again....change in my pockets, a slim figure, dark hair, and buddies to get into mischief with! To those under 30 and single, enjoy it while you can. Ha!

I was only on park for a few weeks in August, 1984. I was not aware Jace was doing anything at SDC at that time. Was he playing Junior, or just coming over to start trouble, HA!

If you have a chance to visit a flea market, quick stop, bait shop, or tourist trap in the Lake of the Ozarks, Truman Lake area this month, look for the June edition of the MISSOURI CHIGGER Magazine (which is based in the little town of Lowry City) for an article I wrote called "Last Ride on Rube Dugan's Diving Bell." The piece is a short history of the ride. If you find a copy of the CHIGGER, I hope you enjoy the article.
