Been on the showboat several times over the years and never had bad service. Sorry to hear of this.

SDC is a special place. My family first visited about '69 or '70, not long after the Beverly Hillbillies visit. Since then, 5 generations of family have been there. I loved working there, too. Glad I saved all the stuff from the old days to post on social media. Folks seem to enjoy it.

Of course, the rest room thing is just a novelty. I did see the show years ago when he was in the old Ozarks Auto Show building, and it was good. Don't know about it in recent years.

HMMMM...sounds interesting. But we gotta wait for the announcement.

Quite some time ago, someone on this site suggested bringing back a float trip ride, but with a bigfoot theme, and called it The Creature on the Creek. I still think that is a great idea. A mystery mine is a good idea, too. I wonder how the kid on the Undercover Boss program is doing...what about his idea for a coaster on Lake Silver that plunges underwater!?!

Some discussion on the You might be from Branson FB site about comments made by the Branson mayor. The three piece statues of veterans purchased by the city from the veterans museum a few years ago is in question. 2 segments are now placed in public spaces, but a third piece is in storage. The mayor said something about selling it off to reduce storage and associated costs. Most folks want to see it placed in a public space, too. Some comments agreed with the mayors comments.

I asked folks on the You might be brom Branson FB site how things went opening night, and got several responses in the positive. One replied it was not quite sold out, but added the players were in fine form. .

It has been awhile so I thought I'd let those interested know the Wattpage stuff is still out there for viewing if interested. Also link to my Flickr site to see some old pictures. I also have a HEE HAW THEATER page on FB.All ozarks related material, so check it out. Thanks!

Good question. I would say he is at retirement age or near it. However, he will always be a beloved Branson performer. He always was the friendly fiddle player who was great meeting and speaking with fans. Very approachable. His wife wore the iron underpants and ran the business end. Not a very personable gal, from what I've been told.

I think today is the 10 year anniversary of this site...thanks, Shave for all your hard work over the years! It has been great to be a member, wonderful to share with fellow members our love for the park. Keep it going, and here's my wish it can go on another 10 years!

Thanks, Coaster. Missed not posting here. I have enjoyed this site since it was established in 2007, and have enjoyed being a member since 2010. There have been some wonderful folk post here.I don't have a chance to visit in person often, so the people here keep up to date with what is going on.

Branson Talk / Tabuchi Theater
« on: July 14, 2017, 01:30:24 PM »
Just saw in the online Branson paper the Tabuchi Theater had a fire in May that did some damage, mostly smoke damage. So the theater won't open until renovations are complete in the fall. Apparently there was an electrical fire in a backstage area. Fire put out quickly by a sprinkler system, but smoke took firemen 3 hours to clear from the entire building. No injuries as it happened late at night. A policeman on patrol spotted it and summoned firemen.

I was encouraged with the announcement yesterday. The existing buildings will get much needed TLC, the theater will get a big revamp for 2018, and the mini golf and playground sound ok. Not sure how ATV trails on the property will work, but you gotta give new stuff a try. I understand a rock climbing wall on the side of the tower is going in, too. I have not heard about their cowboy theater/chuckwagon meal thing, but I am guessing it is gone. Anyway, I wish the two new owners well, and hope the rebranding works for them. Keith Thurman and some other employees will return, but not others, apparently. My fingers are crossed.
