Yeah, you're right, I wasn't paying attention. The number was 6, but the pic of DeRosa was appropriate, since he scored the winning run on an RBI walk-off today. Which brings the number to:



And wow, what a game: 21 combined hits, but only 3 runs.

I have to admit, I've been surprised at how tough the Nats are playing, both against us and Chicago. They're hitting the field like they're playing for the wild card, when they're almost 40 games under .500!

Smoltz is a bargain. The Red Sox are on the hook for his contract, and the Cards only have to pay the league minimum, pro-rated for the rest of the season (about $100k).
