I don't think TnT needs to be rethemed at all. I can't imagine a steel coaster that could possibly fit the theme better.

And FWIW, FITH is also a steel coaster. No one ever seems to question its nostalgia or theme.

I've been looking forward to a big wooden coaster at SDC. I've always thought it would fit the theme better than most of the more recent rides, TnT excluded. It will beat the heck out of Watterboggan and Geyser Gulch.

Personally, I hate the tower at SOTH. It would be one thing if it was themed like a fire tower or otherwise fit in, but it's just plain ugly.

I don't think this will hurt McCoy's draft stock at all. He played smart: he didn't play.

I have no doubt that his inner competitor was screaming to get back on the field, but his outer Dad was screaming at him to stay put!

Yeah, he could have come back in late in the 3rd, early 4th, and maybe made a difference. Or he might have thrown wobblers that hurt his draft status. Or he might have gotten seriously injured, and thrown away an NFL career for one more NCAA game.

I'm an avowed horns hater, being from Arkansas. I was glad to see the SEC team win, no matter who it was. That said, I have to profess some admiration for Gilbert. What must it be like for a true freshman to have his very first college game be the national frickin' championship??? He showed a lot of grit. He also gave up a couple of interceptions and a sack/fumble that made a big difference, but give the kid a break!

It was a great game. I was pleased that the outcome matched my prediction. Well, okay, I predicted Bama would win by more, burt close enough.

Yeah, I was unsure about Cathy Baker, but I was impressed that Misty Rowe was a good singer, not just a busty bimbo babe. Kenny Price had always been one of my favorites because I fancied myself a gospel quartet bass singer. One of the funniest lines I ever heard was when he said he weighed 12 pounds at birth, and "...it took my momma six months to get over it. Of course, my daddy said she never did get over it."

Just eight years later, just prior to my 16th birthday, my family moved to Branson and I GOT A JOB AT SDC! That summer job lasted from 1978-1984.

Wow, we're close in age (I'm 46), and during that same time frame I dreamed of being able to work there!

There were a lot more entertainers around the city then. Now it seems like you have to go into a show to see a performance.

I think Texas decided the game was over at 24-6, and didn't want to risk a serious injury on McCoy, so they announced he was out for the game.

All the Horns fans here are saying, "...but if McCoy hadn't been knocked out of the game...", so I tell them, "You mean, if Bama hadn't knocked him out of the game!"

They want to treat his absence as some kind of freak incident that had nothing to do with the Bama defense.

1976 was the last year for the punch tickets, my first year to work there and I punched them in front of Grandfather's Mansion for a short time.  In 1977 they went to the all inclusive ticket at a bit higher price, around $7 I think.

Ah, okay, I went several years with the punch tickets, then. I'm starting to remember now... it was like a race to complete the whole ticket.
