General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Favorite Gift or Craft Shop

This is a hard question to answer.  I love to watch the bakers at Delilah's, but a stop at the glassblowers goes without question.  The blacksmith is pretty cool, too.  See, I knew this would be hard to answer!  I buy a new piece of pottery for my son several times a year, have to drag my husband out of the knife and leather shop, and there's always something interesting to see at Sullivan's and the post office.  Scratch this post - I can't answer this question.

Hi Everyone!  I had to go an entire week without reading your comments.  It was a loooong week - broke my knee at work and, FORTUNATELY, a dear elderly friend took me to her house to take care of me since the hubs was waaay out of town. UNFORTUNATELY, she doesn't have internet.  God bless her anyway!  I'm back home now, but immobile, so...reading your posts is helping me wile away the hours!  So, keep posting everyone!
~ I heard a train in the distance while at my friends, and SDC was the first thing I thought about.
~ I showed her every pic of SDC on my computer.
~ After checking my email, I headed straight to the forum to see what everyone was posting.
Hmm..what am I going to do for the next 7 weeks??  Maybe I'll photoshop my pics, listen to my Fire In The Hole ringtone, and talk the husband into an opening week trip.

My hubs is a woodcarver, and they have a conversation every time we are there. And, yes, they are pissed (and rightfully so!)  SDC is making a mistake.

My mother-in-law got a 410 shotgun for her first wedding anniversary.  The next year and all years following until she passed away, she received a piece of jewelry as a gift.  Needless to say, that change in gifts saved the marriage!   ;D

I tried logging on to your FB page Larson, but it won't let me.  Are you a deer hunter?  Sunday is the end of deer and pheasant season in Illinois.

You know, I remember riding the waterboggan and will never forget it because at one point I became airborne - SERIOUSLY!  But, I don't remember it having any water.  So, I asked the hubs about it today, and he agrees that when we rode it, it didn't have water - it was just really slick.  When did it change?  Or, are we both crazy?

Within spitting distance of Branson would suit me fine for retirement.  Southwest Missouri and Arkansas both have beautiful blue, blue waters.  With the high traffic now present on TRL, we have ventured to Bullshoals a few times in the last couple of years.  Went there last summer and the darn marina was missing!  Well, it was sort of there - if you looked toward the middle of the lake.  It was 20 feet above flood, and we didn't know it.  Disappointing day!  But...we'll be back this summer.

Thanks, Junior.  I will be checking that out this summer - maybe more than once.  A friend of mine (who dislikes Branson) asked me one day if I have been to this museum.  She wants to take a trip to see it.  My husband and I checked it out on line after the friend mentioned it.  We definitely want to go.

Funny how things pop up on this site.  My husband and I were just talking about this issue and   have also been looking into states with a lower tax base.  Arkansas is No. 1 on or list. Following close behind is Kentucky.

Well, it's currently 16 and gusting here in the Land of Lincoln, and all smart teachers are wearing their pajamas inside out.  It's a sure bet for a SNOW DAY!

I'm not sure that buffet is open at Bass Pro.  There is a lot of construction going on.  On our last trip in the Fall, we had to park in back and there is a new Bass Pro restaurant that looks like it was just built.  We were in a hurry and on a mission, so I didn't really check it out all that closely.  If you find out, let us know!
