Glass blower area?  Although, I think it's knife-makers, also.

Gilligan, when did u go?

Sanddune, it's probably been five yrs. since I've been there.

Quote
I've only visited it once, and I was somewhat let down.  BUT I saw the actual museum exhibit in Chicago when it first went on tour, which was phenomenal!!
Gilligan I saw the exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry and it was fantastic.  I remember climbing down the floors into the lowers levels and seeing the examples of the rooms. With lots of real titanic relics. They had the simulated evening out on the deck with the room refrigerated to the way it would have been, It was really nice.

mhguy, Yes I remember that cold room.  It was downright eerie!  Do you remember walking around the bell? Not a sound was heard; not even a cough!

We are coming to Branson next week to boat, but we avoid "amateur days (3 days surrounding July 4th - too crazy out there!), so a visit to the Titanic might be a nice way to avoid the afternoon heat.

I watch very little tv - Deadliest Catch and Flying Alaska - (oh yeah, and Dancing With The Stars), but I want to know if JR and Bobby are still married to Sue Ellen and Pam?   ;D

MHGuy, you can get those mountain cookies at the Delilah's Bakery.  I'm assuming they are the same ones. Or, did I miss something?  Is that where you buy the apple dumplings (at the mountain cookie stand?)

On a separate note, the hubs noticed that the ugly Humana signs were gone.  Seriously, I didn't pay a bit of attention last time I was there, so...is that true?  Are they really gone???

Gilligan, we were sitting in the green room of the Opera House talking about Niagara the day before he left and I said "What's next, after Niagara...the Grand Canyon?" And he said "As a matter of fact, I already have the permit to do that."

NOW THAT'S COOL!  I can't wait for that one!!  ;D We'll be back in Branson on the 29th.  Looks like I'll have to make another trip to the Opera House to see him in person this time.

Zephon, I agree!  Not only was it great, but what testimony for a younger generation.  It was both inspiring and motivational!  I loved it!  Did you hear him announce his next stunt?  The Grand Canyon!  Holy Cow!  One mile across that canyon!   :o :o

Branson Talk / Re: Where do you stay when you go to Branson?
« on: June 15, 2012, 09:56:13 AM »
We finally have our own condo, but before that our "go-to" was Tribesman Resort on Indian Point.  Before Vickery's Resort was torn down and they went "condo" we stayed there. In fact, we stayed there on our honeymoon years ago.  :)  I love the old, dated (but squeaky clean) lake resorts.  When I was growing up, my grandparents had a home on a five acre lake lot a couple coves over from Indian Point. Being the "favorite" grandchild, I spent many summers on the lake with my grandparents.  Coming to Branson is like "coming home" to me.  Why our family, let them sell it outside the family is beyond me! What I wouldn't give to have that back!!  I still make the hubs boat into that cove so I can look at the boat dock (which is still there but in poor condition) and up the hill at the house. Sigh...

I just read online that ABC is requiring that Nik be tethered by a separate wire.  That's not his style, so I imagine that he's not happy about that (or maybe he is  ;D ).

I was at that show this past weekend.  It was introduced as The Wallenda Family Circus, and when they introduced each member participating he wasn't mentioned, so I assume there are enough family members to carry on different segments of the circus.

I know, right?  Can't you just see it floating in that cold, cold stream, and hear the whack of Pappy's fist as he splits it open?  YUM!!!!!  ;D

I am a teacher, and one of my favorite stories is Watermelon Day.  It's about Pappy growing the biggest, sweetest watermelon of the season.  And, trying to be patient while it cools in the stream...waiting patiently by playing with cousins, playing another round of ball, and dancing to the fiddle; waiting patiently for Pappy to whack it with his hand and declare, "It's a watermelon day!" SDC needs to feature literature like this during Kids Fest.  Dang, I wish I was the Education Coordinator (my dream job).  ;D

Thanks, Chitlins. I didn't know there were different sizes. I know that some are fat and some are tall.  What do the smaller ones look like?
