Sanddune is right about Homestay.  If I needed a place to stay, that would be my choice based on reviews.  If you can find inexpensive lodging, that might make those tickets a little more affordable for you.  Good luck.

I am getting really tired of never getting my SDC times..  I purchase 5 season passes a year and in the last 2 years I have only recieved it 2 times.  I called today and was told that I should have already recieved it.  I asked if they could resend it and they told me no that they are not able to do it.   
 

I get one about half the time, so I feel your pain.  Why don't you try calling again and asking to speak with administrative personnel?  Let them know that you may not be a multiple pass holder in the future if they don't take you serious?  This makes me mad.  Customer service should work with you on this.  Once, a few years ago I was able to talk them into sending me a copy, but I had push them like a used car salesman.

I think that if the Lumbercamp was taken out, or altered the waterfall area could be greatly revamped

I hate to see it revamped.  The intamacy and woodsy feeling is still there down by the waterfall.  I have yet to find a new construction spot in the city that is still tree shaded and cool.  With new construction comes the removal of trees.  Trees and shade are one of the attractions to SDC and it is being lost.  The fir trees they add do provide screening so you cannot see whats beyond them but no real shade.  Its the tree cover that I am missing.  I really hope they start leaving the trees in stand alone planters with circle benches around them.  It really makes a huge difference.

I eat there!  And if not eating, hubs and I go back there just to sit and have a drink.  I love the waterfall area.

I just found out that my dear, sweet condo neighbor just retired from SDC.  She worked in costuming for the past 8 yrs.  She just retired a couple of weeks ago and is moving to a larger condo because she feels like the walls are closing in on her now that she's home during the day.  She loved her SDC job.  This sweet, sweet lady is 80 yrs. old!!! I will miss her!!

I mentioned in another thread that the hubs and I took a boat ride on Taneycomo.  The captain pointed out interesting spots along the river including the Hershend's home.  I suppose he's telling the truth.  The house was very unassuming, but very cool - very large and made to look as though it was part of the cliff.

I dont think SDC would put there name on a property untill it was brought up to standards.
What I remember that hotel is not up to SDC " code "

  Looking at the sign itself tells me that the {property) is not up to SDC "code".

Awww...we wanted to go to the City, but ran out of time, and it was hot, hot, hot!  Too hot to be pushed around in a wheelchair (still recovering from broken knee *sigh*), so we did things we have never done before.  1) Took the tram tour through Fantastic Caverns - that was a LOT more fun than I expected!! 2) Took in music shows (we never do this!) - Jeerk and American Idol Finalists -   Both were great!! 3) Rode the paddle wheeler on Taneycomo - again lots of fun! 4) A visit to Bass Pro in Springfield for fly fishing gear. 5) Big Cedar for bbq and fireworks - Awesome! 6) Attended Branson's 100th Anniv. celebration w/bands, food, and more fireworks - more Awesome! So, hopefully I will be at the City near the end of summer to try it again.

It wasn't a copperhead, but we had a 5-6 ft. snake swim under our canoe on the Current River.  It kept me out of the water!!

Wouldnt be cool if they did allow a select few fans ride the new coaster at the end of the year/beginning of next year? Like held a contest, or raffle? Winner gets to ride new coaster, get first look of new area before anyone else. They could choose about 25 lucky winners.

Better yet, they should all of us diehards on the forum!!
