Is that window at the front of the park at the Season Pass holder entrance?  I'm thinking they used to do season pass replacements there and maybe more customer service stuff.

Thanks guys!  I hadn't heard that anywhere and it has been awhile since I have been in Branson.

Talked to my best friend in St. Louis today.  She heard a commercial on the radio.  She believes they said this is the last year for the show.  I hadn't heard that but told her I'd check here.  If anyone knows, someone on here will!

We like to eat in the small restaurants (excluding the farmhouse) in old downtown by Dick's Five and Ten.  The Branson Cafe is good.  Their apple dumplings are spectacular!  There are also some great shops with great sales.  If you like Marshmallows, the chocolate shop down there have chocolate covered marshmallows drizzled in caramel and nuts.  I don't like them, but my dad buys a dozen every time he and mom go down.

You are right.  The closest Walmart is Branson West.  I'm not sure that they have a grocery store either.  The one that used to be on the outskirts of town closed a long time ago.  I love Crane.  We always stop at the park there.  They have those old dangerous toys that you aren't supposed to play with anymore ;) ;).  My dad always brings his fishing rods and/or fly fishing gear to fish in the stream.

I didn't even go to YCW when I was in Youth Group.  I refused to be associated with all of the nastiness that goes on down there that weekend.  I really wanted to take my in laws when they came, but that isn't the impression I want them to leave with.  If they don't like it one time, they won't ever give it another try.  To me, making a monthly trip isn't worth the line cutting, cussing, pushing, and lines that will be there this weekend.

I would pay for that trolley ride.  However, I will not be paying $5 for a train ride.

Here's a link to an article written in the Tulsa Newspaper.  Looks like it is gone for good.

Man...we would drive for over 2 hours just to eat there and drive back home.  True, the food was never good, but that didn't really matter.  My dad could down more sopapillas than anyone else I knew.  I'm sad that my kids will never get to experience Casa.

As of right now, we plan to come March 19th.  After that, who knows!  We never plan since we live only an hour and a half away.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Recommendation for little ones

Good plan to bring them at opening and stay til they crash.  I have found that they tend to crash sooner than expected though!  Especially the little ones.  Your 6 year old will be able to ride pretty much everything, if not everything.  Even your 2 1/2 year old will enjoy the rides down at Grand Exposition!  My 3 year old twins could ride the frog ride all day long!  I think we rode it 10 times last time we were there.  There is also a lady bug ride (he will ride it on his own) and a bugs and butterflies ride.  My kids also like the lost mine ride.  It can get a little loud for them, but they still enjoy playing with the "shooting guns."  There are special family restrooms that will help you out during that time.  The saloon is a great "downtime".  It gives you a chance to sit and it isn't too loud, so it won't be a big deal to take the baby.  And don't forget to take them down to Gyser Gulch.  They will love playing with the balls.  Make sure to take the hand sanitizer and don't ever buy water.  Get the free ones!  Have a great time!

Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2011 Project
« on: October 29, 2010, 03:21:40 PM »
Unless you have kids this age, you don't really understand the importance.  We bought passes this year and have used them twice.  The first time we went, the kids couldn't do anything.  See it rained the night before and they weren't allowed to go into Gyser Gulch until at least noon.  There are 4 rides they can ride in the kid area.

Before you consider this an epic fail, think about the population it serves.  It's not here to serve as a play area for those that are able to ride the rides.  It will be there so that FAMILIES with YOUNG children can have a good time when they go and not have to worry about their children getting bored. Deal with it!

Way to go Silver Dollar City!  This will be a great addition to the park.  I, for one, am very happy with your decision.  We will be buying passes for next year because we know that our children will have something to do when we go.

It's what keeps every trip to Branson interesting!  It didn't ruin too much for us.  That happened 15 years ago and we still get passes every year.  However, we do not camp.
