My parents went to Branson on there honeymoon in 1969, Dad was just about to ship out with the Navy. They didn't go to SDC because it was December and back then SDC  was not open at that time of year. I recall something about them getting snowed in, but that's about as much detail as I wanted to hear. {{{full body shiver}}}

As I mentioned, my grandparents knew most of the branson area entertainers fairly well. I was told at the time of his passing that he was actually electrocuted in a car accident. He was always very nice to us as kids. I guess the good die young. I remember the Barry Manilow songs that he used to sing all the time. He was a really good guy.

Cliff performed as SDC back in the 90's. I remember him from the Starlite Theater back When Chisai Childs was running it. I knew that he had been killed in an auto accident in 2004. My grandparents knew him pretty well. Does anyone remember Cliff and the show that he was in in the gaslight theater back before listen to the river moved in back in 93?

There was a themed ride as described in the SDC book The littlest Mule about a wagon wheel on its side with seats on it pulled in a circle by a mule. I believe I remember I ride like that from when I was extremely young (like somewhere between 3 and 6 years old). Maybe the imagination of a little kid. Does anyone else remember that?

My grandpa went out an bought a hammered dulcimer back in the 90's and I played it once after my grandmother died. Very fun to play. My mom said that when he passed away it was pretty messed up.

Rube,

I'am newbie, but I've been hovering on here for the past couple weeks. Awesome pictures. Keep'em coming. Found some old postcards on ebay looking today. I'm thinking about starting a collection. My mom has a ton of the newpaper print bags over for washing machine. Mom grew up it Pittsburg,KS and has been going to SDC since before it was SDC.

I played in a band here in Oklahoma City that tried out a guy with a trashcan bass. It was something else.

My memories of this ride are very faint, as I was 6 or 7 when AP opened. I remember the whirlpool. but that's about it
