Constantly using references from SDC.
I play the mine ride song on my mandolin, the train (last week I went through the whole ride line by line to the wife, also did this with the cave tour) I told her all about the old Carrie Nation and Mean Murphy saloon shows. Told her about the Dillards old show and Mercy Pervis. Told her about Jim Dandy playing country boy on a bunch of different instruments. I think I might be a little obsessed. SDC in 3 days and counting yeee haww

Pulling up to pick up the wife, driving in a big circle like I'm driving the tram. (please wait until the vehicle comes to a complete stop, driver when your clear)

Branson Talk / Re: SDC's Wilderness Campground
« on: October 04, 2010, 05:38:44 PM »
I last stayed there in 2002 with my two sons and my ex-wife. She hated the outdoors so camping with her was never fun. I need to try with wife 2.0 and see how she likes it. She is a true hillbilly (like me) and she loves camping, and horses and fishing and rivers, and all that stuff the ex hated. Next time I go there I might actually get to enjoy it.

I know Frontier city went through a bankruptcy and the park was sold a couple of years ago. I heard a lot of the employees worked for a month without getting paid.

I agree on most of those points. Eruption will always have issues. It's tough for them to get the weight distribution right (awesome ride though). I think they could make the wild west show a stage and have different shows in there.

They kinda work... every once in a while. I hate those things though. Put a live band in there place, and that would do a lot to improve things. I'm biased though; I'm always on the hunt for more gigs.

Found my son's link to our SDC trip pics

Saw you came to visit us in OKC (Frontier City) back in June. My kids love SDC but are letdown by frontier city. What do you think we should suggest to Frontier city's management to make it better.

Here's what I think.

1.) Anamatronic bears gotta go.
2.) Singing and Dancing is OK, but I want music that is in theme (old cowboy music) and live (guitars, fiddles, etc)
3.) a street troupe would be awesome

without these kind of improvements, it's just a poor mans six flags

Pretty sure it was springhouse. IT used to have a waterfall that may have been part of the one by grandfather's mansion. I remember when I was about 14 I was arguing with my dad, and he told me to come over there to look at something by the waterfall and he shoved my head under it.

there used to be a restaurant that had a waterfall that was really close to grandfather's mansion. In 1995 when my sister was 12, she got really sick and threw up on me. I'm talking poltergeist, spinning head, projectile etc (sorry about the image) therefore qualifying that restaurant as my least favorite. Does anyone remember the name of that place, I want to say Aunt Polly's chicken or the waterfall restaurant. Which one is right?

On the Plus side, SDC was the first place I had frozen lemonade. We had a huge etched glass mug that had our last name engraved on it on one side and the SDC logo on the other side. Will they still refill those? If so, can someone tell me how much it costs?

Got my tickets for the weekend of 8  - 10 October. Can't wait. Haven't been there in the fall in 8 years. I want to take the lantern tour. Are they still doing it this late in the season? If any of y'all happen to see me out there, introduce yourself. I know that I only have one picture of me on here so far so I'll send another one. I was thinking I need a name tag.

Of course, but then again I am also a Royals fan, so I'm just glad that they're not mathematically eliminated from contention after the first month. :(

I have been a computer nerd ever since I first used the Net. The First site I ever went to was.....

kcroyals.com (Hang head in shame)

however the second one was silverdollarcity.com
 ;D

(I don't this site existed in 1997 or I would have been on it a long time ago)

Ditto on the forums, when nobody was posting today I was checking it every couple minutes
