General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2019 Daily Attendance

We were there Saturday morning & evening. Of course morning wasn't bad & we left around 11 or 12. Went back around 6 & Preferred Parking still had places to park. The park itself didnt seem too bad for 19,000+ people.

Went to the park this past Sat, the 15th. Had 10 people with us all total!! Most had never been there before and loved the place within 10 minutes of being there. Anyways..
Friday, my wife & I & my brother went to park after 3 so we could get in free the next day. The park was not busy at all. Rode AP 1st off, have not ridden it in probably 4-5 years. Tried PK again & it did not make us dizzy this time. And then of course rode FITH. After that we just walked around the park & looked at some of the craftsmen.
Saturday all 10 of us ate City breakfast. The park was open by the time we were done. They wanted to do the cave first, but we thought the park night get busy like always on a Sat. So we talked them into hitting most of the rides first. The newbies loved every ride & being in the park. We started on the left side of the park & they rode everything. By the time we got to TT & TNT, it was about 2-3pm & the wife & I were getting hungry. So we left.
It was also car show weekend, but it did not seem to be too busy, did see a lot of hot rods. We had lots of laughs & good times. Talked to a lady at the slushy machine place right by the RR bridge, she was a nice lady, had some good stories about meeting & hanging out the Herchends. She was from Texas, they come up here for the summer. Talked to Betty at Mollies Mill, she had just celebrated her 30 years at SDC, that was great, they let us keep our food ticket to add to our SDC collection.
We paln on doing this again next year. My brother works for Waffle House, & 3/4 of the folks that went with us, work for WH. I made a FB page for our Moonlight Madness trip, but since we didnt go, we have changed it to The Waffle House SDC Trip. We are up to 30 members. Anyways.. It was a great trip as always. Talked to KD & told her if she needed anythig, she knew what room i was in. Saw Mrs. CheeseHead too at Classic. As always, a great time at SDC & Branson!! :)

You are correct sanddune, there was 10 of us at SDC this past Sat. They predicted 16,000. The park did not get really busy until around 2-3pm. It was a good day. :)

The little stream on the left side of the square heading down towards the leather - knife making shops. It is where i asked my wife to marry me. But the 1 that reminds me most of when i was a kid, is the back of the bathrooms by the old time photos. It was, & still is fun to watch the train come around the corner. And of course, when i was a teenager, i would hide out back there & smoke cigarettes.. Shame on me! Thank Heaven it was the 80s!!  :o

Made a trip to SDC this past weekend.

Got to the park late Friday, about 4:30, they closed at 6pm. No one was at Preferred Parking, so we parked for free. Time Traveler was not running, so we rode TNT. It seemed rougher than usual.. Walked down to FITH. That was fun as always. First half of the music was working, but the second half of the ride did not. The train light & yelling FITH were working though. Kinda got lost for a second around the new area, but we did not walk far enough & ended up finding it anyways. Went to Powderkeg next. We were on empty stomachs, so it kinda made us dizzy. Our bad.. We left after that to go eat. But we came back the next day.

Saturday we got there around 8'ish. They had some of the guys with the pogo sticks doing tricks. No opening ceremony at all. After that was over, the park was open!! We went straight to Time Traveler. The wait was about 45 minutes. It was fun. It did not make sick or dizzy. With just being used to roller coasters being forward, it was kind of confusing spinning around. But you do get to see other peoples reactions to the ride.

Then we went to the pottery place for about a half an hour. Rode FITH again. Rides were starting to get long already because the weather was great. Low 70s. Went to PK but the line was already down the hill. Stumbled around the park because we didnt get much sleep the night before, & ended up by FM, so we rode it. Ate at the BBQ place by Lost River, & decided to leave. We were wore out, the lines were getting long, & the crowd was getting big. I think we left around 1'ish..

We do have another trip planned for July during 1 of the Moonlight Madness nights. We will be bringing 3-4 more people with us. Oh boy, HOW will we make it?!?! LOL!!

Went to the park Saturday the 22nd for Moonlight Madness. Arrived about 6:30. Wife & i got in for $10.00 a piece Thanks to my brother & a coupon. Friday there was only 6000 folks at the park. Had to go to the ticket booths first to get our real tickets, that was about a 30 minute wait. No biggie..

Went to the clothing shop across from Lost River to get a dress my brothers wife wanted, but it was already closed. So we rode FITH first, then took a trip on outlaw Run. 1 thing they were doing different was not letting everyone bunch up in the numbered lines to wait for rides. It seemed to go even faster. About 20 minutes per ride was about the longest. And the que lines seemed to move faster. Most coasters had 2-3 trains running at all times, & all were running fine.

We started getting a little warm, so we went & rode Tom & Hucks River Blast. That was my first time. And it was a blast if ya enjoy blasting people with water! LOL!! Went to ride the train & was all ready to go, but they started shooting off fireworks about 9pm. They said the next train would not run till 9:30 because of the fireworks. So we rode Flooded Mine. All effects were working.

My brother & his wife pooped out after that, but they had been there earlier in the day. So we were on our own. Rode Powder Keg in the dark, & Outlaw Run again, in the dark. THAT was fun!! You can not see a thing!!  The country music in the que line for OR was fine, but WAY TO LOUD!! I did get a little dizzy from riding in the dark, but i can deal with that. It was 11:30pm by then, so we left.

Preferred parking without a pass was $15.00. I was cool with that, it was too hot to walk or wait, so we just payed the price like we always do. Had a great time in the dark, my calves are feeling it today!! Drank a few Icee's & a bottle of water. Talked to one of the Icee servers while we were paying, & she said a lot of people just walk up & refill their cups & do not pay, & appriciated our honesty. The crowd was not bad. Lots of younger folks of course, but everyone seemed respectable & having fun even though it was warm.

After a 1 day free for all at SDC, & a 4 hour drive home. We had a storm with lots of wind Saturday night while we were at SDC, & we came home to lots of limbs on & around our house. House is ok, just have been doing a lot of clean up today.

Had a great time! Thanks once again SDC!!
