Other Parks / Resort available in Gatlinburg
« on: October 02, 2015, 02:23:33 PM »
I am going to post this here if it is OK. Not sure whether selling something is OK or not. If not please delete it. Try it here first since a lot of you go to Gatlingburg also.

I have a 1 Bedroom condo available from May 16 to checkout on May 21st 2016.

I traded into this from RCI and now have found out I have a nephew getting married in Florida that weekend, so I cannot use it.

Looking for $550.00 for the 5 days. I will put your name on the reservation at my cost. I prefer Paypal. Half down and then the rest when I send you the confirmation with your name on it.

Let me know by PM if you are interested.

Other Parks / Universal is going to be like Disney soon.
« on: May 28, 2015, 03:01:21 PM »
With the addition of Harry Potter and the expansion of the parks long with new resort hotels Universal is getting to be a week long affair just like Disney. Now they are adding this.

I had sworn off theme parks for awhile but maybe I will change my mind.

« on: January 16, 2015, 12:40:28 PM »
List 5 improvements you think the park could make over the winter to enhance guest experience. Here are the rules.

1. No new attractions. this has its own thread area.
2. No bashing of others ideas.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Show Lovers Pass
« on: December 06, 2014, 07:54:47 AM »
We had not planned any trips during Old Time Christmas, but some friends of ours talked my wife into meeting them at SDC next weekend. Will be using their Baf's for the entry. Our kids are also meeting us there. We never have bought a show lovers pass, and I really do not care for the 2 major Christmas shows , but will be forced to set through them to help make the spouse happy. Looks like it will be in the 60's next weekend so I expect the place will be packed. I really do not want to waste my good riding time waiting in 1 hour lines for the shows so I think we will invest in a show lovers pass.

Question is

Is the pass only good for Dickens and Wonderful life ? That is what the website alludes to. I thought the Saloon was included, but am not sure.

Other Parks / Toy story Mania
« on: October 08, 2014, 01:37:04 PM »
I have seen this the last couple of days and thought I would post here for discussion. Toy story Mania is one of the most popular attractions at Disney ever. Most of our trips to Hollywood studios the stand by line reached 2 hours plus and Fastpasses were gone for the day within 2 hours of park opening. We always seemed to make the initial race from opening to the line in the morning rode it and then got a fastpass for later on. Not sure I like Disney's  new experiment, but maybe it will work better, Time will tell.

Other Parks / The Mummy
« on: August 10, 2014, 10:45:00 AM »
Does anyone know if the same company that designed The Mummy indoor coaster at Universal Studios Florida is the same as Mystery mine at Dollywood? (Gerstlauer) The Mummy is a excellent under rated indoor coaster in my opinion.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / What is theming a ride
« on: August 14, 2013, 05:08:15 PM »
So there seems to be a lot of discussion on theming rides lately. I thought I would give my opinion and see how others feel about it in a new discussion.

I really do not think SDC does much with theming anything. Look at outlaw run for example. They put some elements in the line and made a depot, but the ride has zero theming. Same for wildfire. PK has a little more because of the launch. Now you really cannot theme a roller coaster much, but if you look at Disney they themed Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain throughout the rides. To me that is putting a theme in the rides not just some outdoor cosmetics. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Other Parks / This is just wrong
« on: May 15, 2013, 12:08:32 PM »
A recent story on Yahoo about some elite moms hiring handicapped guides to get to the front of the line at DW. Sure glad Disney is investigating this and will hopefully have it under control soon. I thought that if you used the handicapped entrance you still had to wait while the rest of your party went through the line. Am I wrong ?

Pardon me asking if this is already posted somewhere. I could not find it doing a search.

My wife and I who both have season passes will be visiting on one of the first season pass appreciation days. We plan on bringing our daughter in with us on a BAF ticket. Question is, Does she have access to the late ride times also ? Can she stay in the park and just not ride?  We have never attended this and not sure of the policy. I could not find the info on the sdc website also.
