Just spent the last 2 days with my son at freshman orientation at the university of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  Curious if anyone on the site has children at the university or are you a student there?

Just curious, say you're at the City in the summer and a thundershower pops up where would you go to wait it out?  I used to always go to the bookstore to browse but since they closed that I'm looking for somewhere else.  Of course a show would probably be the best thing but that's not always possible for a pop-up shower.

Random Talk / Government Shutdown

Anyone else get furloughed by the Federal Government shutdown?  I work for a state agency but since my job is mostly federally funded I'm out of a job until the shutdown is over.  They got about 80 out of around 100 of us at my office.  Hopefully this will be over soon.

I'm looking forward to the new Lone Ranger movie debuting July 3rd.  Should be a "western" kind of summer with that movie, Outlaw Run, the new Mean Murphy show, etc.  Yeehaw!

Yeehaw!  After numerous e-mails sent and surveys responded to SDC listened.  Their website shows this year's saloon show as Outlaw Fun- The Return of Mean Murphy!  I am pumped!

I kind of hit on this in another topic but what would you like to see at SDC in 2013?  With Outlaw Run and the new area debuting if they didn't add/change anything else that would be just fine.  However, if they were to change anything I'd like to see the Mean Murphy show back at the saloon and for them to get rid of the basketballs.  Thoughts?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / SDC page problem

My computer got a virus late in July and I ended up reinstalling the operating system (vista) but couldn't recover any of my favorites.  Now when I go to the SDC website it loads almost all of the page then I get the message that internet explorer cannot open the site with no option except to click ok.  When I do that it kicks me off the page.  I can get into the HFE page off of bransonsilverdollarcity.com site but when I click the link to SDC that's when I have problems.  I have loaded the Adobe reader and Java hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't work.  Does anyone know what's required to display the page?  Thanks

Just curious- anyone else on the site here a practicing martial artist?  This October I will have been a black belt in Kempo Karate for 34 years.  I haven't been to a class in forever but almost every morning I go out in the backyard and punch and kick the heavy bag.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / New 2012 Season

So, what are you most excited about for the upcoming 2012 season?  For me it's "The Pinkerton Man" western stunt show during the return of the Salute to the Great American Cowboy during the Harvest Fest.  Of cousre, I'm biased to anything Old West so that was a no-brainer for me.
