It’s almost time for the opening ceremonies of the game with the lighting of the torch candle at Carrie’s Candles Shop!  ;)

Excellent find on both the map, and the Pathfinder! Hey did anyone else notice on the new map the missing slides from the Waterboggan? Plus, they have removed the labels for both the Waterboggan, and Splash Harbor. I was surprised to see just how accurate the new map is!

With all of this new excitement it makes me want to run down the street like a Bald Knobber on the loose! Okay maybe not, but this is going to be a great year. :D

I agree about not getting too worked up just yet. I mean after all this is nothing more than a simple “rumor.” Let’s wait, and panic, and flail our arms wildly when, or if it ever does happen. ;)

Howdy folks! My name is Jonathan, I am nearly 25 years old, and I’m the only person in town who listens to bluegrass music with their car windows down. I have lived in The Natural State (Arkansas) for all of my life, and I have visited Silver Dollar City since I was in diapers.

In fact I can remember back to the early 1990’s as little kid, I once peered over the miniature Thunderation publicity model before the real one was actually built. Oh those were the days! The Sky Chase Balloon ride was my favorite attraction as a child.

I love bluegrass, and barbeque, and I would pass up a trip to Disney World to go to Silver Dollar City any day of the week. :D

I also enjoy geocaching for anyone of you who may already know what that is.

Most of my screen names on other websites are generic, and boring. For this forum I wanted something a little more creative, and something that captures a piece of true southern living.

So I chose Ozark Barbeque, or Ozark BBQ for short. Let’s face it, there is nothing more enjoyable at Silver Dollar City than the Ozarks, funnel cakes, bluegrass, and barbeque!  ;D

Wow, this will be very interesting indeed! Since the Herschend’s have multiple theme parks, it will be interesting to see if they make a stop at Silver Dollar City, or not.

I’m not trying to deviate too far off topic, but does anyone remember back in the day when a crowd would welcome the saloon girls by yelling “howdy hussies!” by chance? A few years ago they changed it to a more politically correct greeting of “howdy toots!”

It’s great to live in world today where if you take 100 people, and 1 person is offended, then the other 99 people must sacrifice their view to match that 1 person.  ::)

Uh, we do not use the word “hillbilly” in my household. We call them hill people, or country Americans.

Nah, I’m just teasing!  ;)

Why the big fuss over hillbillies? Heck, even hillbillies call themselves hillbillies.

I agree! So many of the talented craftsmen, and musicians there I know by face but not always by name.

Just like Silver Dollar City, you believe in progress, and I think the new layout will include some nifty tweaks. This website truly is the best place to get all of your unofficial information about our favorite attraction. Thanks!  ;D

I just hope it is not ALL novelty River Blast merchandise. I hope they include a broader scope of products. I would much rather purchase something unique, or genuine from Silver Dollar City about the ride, than just generic cups, and hats with a River Blast logo on them. Maybe I am just being too picky? We’ll see.  :)

Branson Talk / Re: How many are also Shepherd of the Hills fans?
« on: March 13, 2010, 12:48:56 PM »
Branson just isn't Branson without the Shepherd of the Hills. Whatever it takes to keep the rich history of this area alive is something that I highly support. That is what makes Shepherd of the Hills, and Silver Dollar City more than just a generic attraction. They are both based heavily upon the real foot steps of the people that explored this great area before us.

I remember several years ago when I was a teenager, seeing a medical staff member dressed in a modern E.M.T. uniform, with a medical bag walking somewhere to assist someone I assume.

Thankfully Silver Dollar City chooses to not use traditional 1880's style medical practices.  :P

Hold onto your hats! Just five days away!  :D

After the opening ceremonies are completed, I make a mad dash straight for Powder Keg, and get as many rides out of that as I can before the lines start to build up. I then navigate over to Wildfire, and ride that a few times to keep the adrenaline going. After my morning rush, I then go for other activities such as Thunderation, Fire in the Hole, Lost Mine, the train, and others.

No matter what though, I always have to get my big ride thrills out first thing in the morning. ;D
