...but then you have to ask yourself, does the paint being worn add or distract from the theme?  If you have really bright paint really ANYWHERE in the park, it stands out too much.  They have to paint the new buildings to look distressed otherwise they don't fit into the theme.

Honestly now that they got the all water hoses working again there at the targets and over at Splash Harbor I think the area is better than it was say last year.  imho

Not going to happen.  They are in the midst of a large rennovation of GG - which included draining Lake Silver last year.... it should continue on in this coming off season again.

OK.... I think that we need to get back on topic here and discuss on Kidsfest this season.

If you want to discuss the current conditions of the entertainment dept of SDC, let's make a specific thread about it and move all discussions and disagreements there.

Ok, Docspeleo, it's time for you to do another update since you are closer to the park than I am.

Yes they do... for now at least.  I imagine it will make it through the rest of the year and then after the Holiday Season they will begin on Phase #2 of the park.

^Almost every park in the Cedar Fair chain does.  Disney also does to a certain extent -- but it is mainly the Disneyana stuff, like pins and stuff like that.

The Paul Bunyan Log Flume is now just LOG FLUME.  It is supposed to get a new theme to the show "Back at the Barnyard" very soon, but not sure when.

The park seems to be doing farily well.... of course it always has.  During the Holiday Season at MOA, the park is packed with people.

Speaking of the name changes... it is taking a little while for me to get used to the new names as well.

There used to be a way to get stuff online at the sdc website, but I cannot seem to find it anymore.  I guess that has left us as well as other things they used to do.

Nope that is long gone.
It is rather interesting the history of the area of where Cereal World was located.
Originally it was a mini-golf area, then the Cereal World came and stayed for 3 years at most.  Next the area became a dinosaur museum sort of thing... and now, the are is back to being a mini-golf area again (though much better themed this time).

Nickelodeon Universe at MOA - June 21

Derrijk and I decided to take a trip up I-35 to check out the parks in the Twin Cities.  After spending most of the day at Valleyfair, we went over to Mall of America to check out the NEW park in the middle of the mall - Nickelodeon Universe.  To say that Sponge Bob is an awesome coaster is an understatement... on to the PTR!

Trust me, FITH with the lights on is no great woop. I spent part of a winter replanting plastic flowers in front of Red Flander's place, picking up garbage thrown from cars etc. and it's kind of seady looking with the lights on. Now off would be cool......

I've been through with both.  Coaster Christmas 2006 we did several laps thro' with the lights on.  It really gives you an appreciation of just how big those drops are -- especially right after the train tunnel.  The lights off one was at the end of the day way back when I was younger and my brother and I were the only ones on the train and we asked if they would do it and they said "sure".  It was rather freaky.  No sound or anything.
