I just got done clearing off 5-6" of snow off our cars.  There are few drifts around our place that are over a foot deep.  Crazy Missouri Weather.

IDK about you guys, but that "Global Warming" can start any day now.  lol

We have our 2nd Snow Day of the year today.
Works out great for me, because that means I don't have to do pepband or supervise the drumline and winterguard tonight at the doubler header that was scheduled for tonight.

Only sucky part is, we now have to go to the 24th in May

In case you hadn't heard, Holliday signed with the Cards -- a seven-year deal worth a guaranteed $120 million, including a $17 million vesting option for 2017.

I love getting emails like these from the supt.

Teachers / Staff,

During the "cold season" (which seems to be unending) please feel free to wear jeans, sweats, etc. To define “cold season”, a forecast of +20 degrees or below should be sufficient.

Sorry, I didn’t get this sooner.

Mr. Lake

SCORE!   ;D

^We're still on 2nd Quarter until the end of the week (no we don't know why either)

Today was Day #84 of 174.  THE END IS GETTING CLOSER! :D
I guess that makes the 27th - Day #100, that's always fun with the elementary band kids.

First day back was a success.  The kids appeared to be ready to be back and back to a "routine" -- sure made for a nice day.

The best part?  Only 15 more MONDAYS until Summer Vacation :D

The "powers that be" made the wonderful choice of making this first week back of school to still count as the 2nd quarter.  I have no idea why, it's never been done this way before, but talk about strange.  So here I was with my JH Music Appreciation class all finalized and wrapped up before break and I get the rude reality slap in the face over break realizing I have these kids for yet another week.... time to pull out a musical I guess.

So by the time I have these kids whipped back into shape at the end of the week, I get a new set the following week who will need to be whipped into shape.  Oh joy. *groan*

According to Lisa Rau, the Carousel Barn will remain a "special events" building and will not be converted into anything else to "plus" the area.  The outside of the building will receive some "placemaking" upgrades to tie in with the new theme, but other than that, nothing is going to happen.

However, with that being said, a small portion of the western part of the building will be utilized as a new retail store for River Blast.  However this will be a very small store and it will only use the far right corner of the building (once you entered it from the rotunda).  According to the site plans, it is just barely larger than the room allocated for the snack stand near the entrance to the Carousel Barn

Mizzou looked absolutely pathetic in the Texas Bowl.  It was no secret that Navy was going to run the option.  It's not hard to defend against, we had to do it all the time in high school.  You run a 5-3 front and force them to pass, but with the 5-3 front you're putting so much pressure on the QB that he won't have time to pass.  It's not difficult, it's just that no body runs this style of offense anymore except a handful of schools.

I honestly did not understand the play calling by Yost (however I haven't understood it most of the season).  I really think that Yost does a good job with the QBs, but I think it is time to go out and get an offensive cordinator.  Yost is not getting it done just like the one before that went to Wyoming.

Yeah, we jump right back into the fire on Monday.  Still trying to decide the level "intensity" I want to do.  I hate being the only teacher (most of the time) that feels the need to actually push my students to get back in gear and back into the swing of things as soon as we get back from and extended break.  Shoot I know some teachers in my district that will just "coast" all week and might actually start teaching the following week.

Shoot I have pepband on Thursday and the following week the winterguard and the drumline go on tour.

Did no one go the last week of the season?  If that's the case, I'm disappointed in you SDCfans.  I would have gone and "taken one for the team" but I was in the Bahamas

Then I guess it would fit in well with the new mining area theme and they should bring it back  ;D

You holding info back on us?  Has someone confirmed a new mining area, or are you just pontificating?

It scared you??? I thought it was so cool when I was a kid.  Just make sure you sit near the back otherwise you'd get wet.
