Sadly i think it was real due to the fact that someone said they couldn't find it anywhere and it looks as though the park is trying to hide it. :'( :'( :'( >:( >:( >:( :-[ :-[ :-[

^But not always. Adding something around the drop would make it more thrilling and leave that door open. I hope that is the plan. Looks pretty barren around the track so far, no signs of any theme elements down there yet. They are promising some kind of "world-footprint" though...
I hope if they do they have a cool effect that makes it look like your actually time traveling or going though a wormhole and so on. ;D

And here is a general idea of where new track has been placed using the overhead view shot that was posted a few weeks ago.
the way you drew it out makes it look like there will be a little speed bump in between the drop and first inversion

I also got to thinking... what if the "holding brake" area is actually to unlock the spinning?

Encountered a truck as I was leaving bringing more track and supports onsite. You can see more of the layout here.
I got much better shots on my DSLR which I will edit and upload later tonight. Along with video.
when will the video be out?

it would be so cool if there was a part in that building where it was like a drop track but it goes up and down with the story line then launches you out into the open. it would go into the hole at the bottom and come out at the top

Could the area highlighted in red be support / mounting area for a dive coaster holding brake?
could be but i kinda hope not... id rather have a traditional mack train than a big dipper type train and i don't think they would use a holding brake for an average train (unless its 3 cars long which could be kinda cool). capacity reasons are why. maybe its just for sensors or a trim. but we shall see. it should be great either way. ;)

What Flys without wings is a spinning disk

With the different sections of track and the show building, they'll be more than one train on the course at once. Thus kinda upping theorical capacity. That looks like a dive coaster feature to me.
Show building? do you know something we don't? ???

It's a 90 degree drop that goes down 70-100 feet and ends below the hill into a dugout canal and back into a half loop. There is a 2nd half loop with a large section of straight track erected crossing by the bottom of the drop. This track leads to the small rectangular building. Inversions and launches are pretty much confirmed now.
did you get any pics of the other track you speak of or just the drop? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

So August 16 is only like 3 weeks away! It's nuts how fast the summer has gone by and how close we are to the final reveal!

I got an invite today to come out for the announcement ceremony. I will do my best to live-blog to the FB page during.

Let's make sure we can keep the excitement going through the announcement by keeping a lock on any info that shouldn't be public. Anything that isn't an observation or pure speculation should go unsaid until afterwards. Don't go interrogating the dippin dots guy when we're this close!

I received an invite as well - trying to arrange things so that I can also attend.  Shave I'll let you know and if I can go we can hang out that day and tag-team on coverage.  We could also do a quasi-live podcast from the event.  The tour of the site is what has me sold on going.

How are people getting invites and do you need and invite to attend I really want to be there.

I was at the park yesterday and I can confirm that the coaster will invert there was a support that went at about a 173° angle I couldn't get a pic because I could only see it from TnT. I also talked to a steampunker that when I asked said he was a time traveler and told me to keep a secret but that he was very specifically traveling to 1908... I think this might be significant.
