Lots of support steel in the building and you can see where a bit of it has gone vertical. You can see what may be track in the background on the floor in a few photos, but no long runs of installed track could be seen.

The exterior has also continued to receive some theming additions.

*These photos were taken from inside of Fireman's Landing.

I couldn't find the Trailblazer line for Fire in the Hole, and it was very crowded, so I didn't push my way to the front to find it.

It is to the left of the main line. At the entrance to the line out front, you just go to the left to walk up to the entrance instead of entering the main line.

Anyplace that chokes the walkway down from wide to narrower causes issues... think the bridge heading down to the right by the candy company...

This was fixed a few years ago and the "bridge" is now the same width as the the path.

Sugar Leaf Bakery is the only reason that we go to Grand Village. If it was in a different location I don't think that we would ever go to the shops.

2. The new, lighted refrigerated cases in the General Store make me sad. In a few more years, I expect it to make the full transition into a Dollar General (only halfway joking).  :(

Somewhat along the same lines, I hope that the new standup Coke coolers with bottled water that recently appeared around the City are integrated better over the offseason. Specifically, the one at Corn Dogs & Tenders is just sat out front and is kind of in the way. Hopefully they will work on them over the off season to blend them in more.

It is nice that they have an older/retro rounded style to them and aren't the stock squared off ones you see in concession stands.

If you rewatch the video and look at the website, nothing is actually said about the ticket booth/entry area. It is all about traffic flow and parking. I wouldn't expect anything major with the actual entry area based off of what has been announced so far. It is also targeted for completion in 2024, not next year.

I'm guessing that the Priority Gate Entrance will be a few lanes to the far left or right where they scan tickets that will be reserved for Gold and Diamond pass holders.

Good! But I suspect if Dollywood keeps the black out dates going forward...this will eventually transition to SDC too.  :(

They received a ton of backlash for it. They ended up removing blackouts on kids passes. It will be interesting to see what they do for 2024.

Back to SDC passes... as always, people are complaining about more restrictions on BAF passes, but they are also probably the same people that complain about crowds and lines. You can't have cheap entry, unrestricted bring a friend passes, and no lines. The park has to control crowds some how.

You are joking right?  You think anyone will want to ride it again?  I expect it to be closed the rest of the year and I don't think it will reopen until they get new cars and do some PR and finish an investigation to show it is safe.

Wasn't saying that I think the it will/should reopen this year. Just stating that there are multiple trains.

Assuming that it doesn't reopen this year, it would be great if they could have Grandpa tell the Christmas story somewhere else to keep that part of SDC Christmas traditions going.

*Edited my original post to make my stance more clear.

They do have more than one train, assuming that they are cleared to begin operations again. Managing the line with only one train during Christmas could be a real challenge though.

*Not saying that they will/should reopen the train this season even if cleared to. Jus stating that there is more than one train.

Saw some posts on Facebook. Initial reports are that everyone was able to walk away with minor injuries except for 2 that were more serious. Not extent I’d the serious ones is known.

I’m not clear on the timeline for the worker housing, I think it’s 2024 as well but could be 2023.

It is expected to open mid-2023.

The artwork has Corn Dogs and Chicken Tenders at the new Fried Fancies. I wonder what the current Corn Dogs and Tenders will become. Maybe it will be a festival food stand like they have used it for in the past?

I’m trying to figure what the “2nd turning lane into the city” would be. Would it be along 76...

I believe that it will include the 76 entrance. There have been some survey stakes around that area recently.
