I agree with Biscuit and Swoosh...it is time for SDC to be fully open for the spring.  Dollywood has everything up to speed from opening day and SDC should too.  I too have noticed how the spring break crowds continue to grow and it seems SDC is always caught off guard and unprepared.

I don't understand why Fire in the Hole would close at 32 degrees. That confuses me...of course it doesn't take much.  I don't think I will be riding Lost River when it is 33 degrees!!

At the top of the website is a heading "park calendars".  Hit the drop down and select the park you want.  A calendar should pop up on the left side. Select the date you want and it should give you the hours as well as the entertainment schedule for the day.

Dollywood Discussion / Forest Fire Near Dollywood

Just heard on the news where the forest fire near Pigeon Forge was just miles away from Dollywood.  At least that's what the reporter said. DW had a post on their facebook page thanking all the firefighters who fought a brush fire that got near the park Saturday.  They indicated there was no damage to DW and they will open as scheduled later this week.  DW mentioned the fire near them Saturday is not related to the one firefighters are battling now. It appears several rental cabins have burned down and several people have had to be evacuated.  Here's hoping they can get the fires under control and there is no more damage to a beautiful area of our country.  I think the DW post mentioned Wears Valley.

Just read a post on Facebook that Outlaw Run is not running right now.  Wonder how often they are going to have issues with the coaster?

I think it will be a very competitive, hard fought and entertaining game.  For some reason I think the 49ers will win.  I think they have the better defense and a punishing running game.  We'll see though, that's why they play the game.

We're coming down for New Year's weekend.  It looks like we won't be riding many rides at SDC as things will be cooling off.  Oh well, there are plenty of other things to do in the City.  Will probably be there Friday and Sunday for sure and maybe even Saturday.  Looking forward to it.  Just need to lock down what I want to do for sure on New Year's Eve.

Splashin Safari is a first class waterpark, I think your family will love it.  You probably noticed on their website they are adding some more slides for next season.  If you think you will spend most of your time in the waterpark, you might look at renting one of their cabanas.  That would give you a place to get out of the sun for a few moments and get a chance to rest.  I think they are building even more for next year.  We always eat in the park.  The food is not too bad and the pricing is pretty fair.
