Season passes came in. Saw a show about pirates was going to be featured? I don't get it.  What do pirates have to do with an 1880s mining town?  I'm all for new entertainment, but pick a themed show that fits. On the other hand it would be interesting to learn how pirates arrived in a landlocked area. I wonder if they have hovercraft technology on their old timey pirate ship?

No, they got transported in via the time traveler

So the show used to be good but then took a dump.  Maybe that explains things.

I have never been in the toy museum, or that car museum.  Are they worth going to?

The heartbeat was leftover from Rube Dugans. To my knowledge, it was supposed to be the "oxygen" pump for the submarine. The same is used at the Flooded mine.

Wow I never made the connection between the LR heartbeat sound and the FM sound.

I have never actually been to his show. I have sort of wanted to just because I have always known about it but never gone sort of deal.

Now that I think about it, I never did really get what the heartbeat sound or whatever that sound was supposed to be that played inside the building.  I would still have preferred they kept that ride.

I wonder what the numbers will be like tomorrow?  I assume they are talking about rain up there all day tomorrow.

Don’t forget the Shoji Theatre is for sale now too ... and the Kirby VB Theatre is still unsold and rotting away

Yes, they are,  But Shoji's wont sell anytime soon... too many 0000's..      LOL..

Speaking of which, last time we were there I believe Shoji had a show going at one of the other theaters in town, which I thought was odd since he has his own theater.

All I can say is if they will just rip this ride out like it was nothing it probably wont be too long before they do the same with FM or FITH

So was something going to open up there that would have competed with Dixie Stampede?

I wonder what the crowd will be like Friday and Saturday/Sunday?  If they do get 4-6" will they just shut the park down or keep it open?  Might be interesting to visit with 4-6" of snow.

Instead of tearing out old classic rides, do they not have enough land that they could add new coasters or rides beyond the current footprint of the park?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Time Traveler at night
« on: November 16, 2018, 03:41:43 PM »
So we rode the TT last night at around 7:30-7:45.  Not sure what the temp was but it was starting to get cold.  First of all, TT is really cool to ride at night.  Being that it was Christmas time, I think it would have made the ride even better if they had some sort of Christmas lights out on the ride somehow, but whatever.  We were in the 2nd to the last car and something was going on with the car in front of us (2nd from the front).  It appeared as if its magnetic brake control was either not working, or was not working the same as the rest of the cars and not normal.  I noticed it was spinning quite a bit faster than the rest of the cars.  Actually, I will go so far to say it appeared to be spinning about like the teacups would.  When we got to the dead stop at the first launch, that car continued to spin at a pretty fast pace as we were just sitting there.  The car we were in and none of the other cars did this.  I could hear the people commenting about how it was spinning fast.  Anyway, I am not sure if the cold affected it or what, but just something I noticed.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2018 Trip Reports
« on: November 16, 2018, 03:37:25 PM »
We arrived yesterday at about 3:30pm and stayed till close to 8pm.  All rides were walk on, including TT.  We watched the parade sitting on the new wall with the little tables on them over by the new restaurants.  There was very little crowd there and it was stress free.  When the parade ended, we headed over to the train and jumped in line just as they started letting people into the station for the next ride. They closed the gate at the group that was just ahead of us.  Once the train pulled in and everyone loaded, we ended up getting on that ride just fine but by this time the line behind us was pretty big.  After we got off the train we headed over to TT to ride it in the dark, which was cool.  Once again it was walk on. I had a couple of interesting observations about it that I will post in a separate thread.
