General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Fire In the Hole/Flooded Mine
« on: June 11, 2018, 09:52:18 PM »
Yeah I too wished they could clean up and fix the outdoor part. Along with that area giving the "sewer pond" impression I have noticed for quite some time that the audio where they yell "Fire!" and the blast sound fx from the little gunboat has seldom worked along with the water jet simulating a shot hitting the water.

I am still placing bets on something happening in and around Lake Silver and then finally the long speculated area between PK and WF to eliminate the dead ends on that side of the park.

Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2018 Project(s) and Park Developments

http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Silver-Dollar-City-explains-causes-of-maintenance-delays-on-Time-Traveler-483994491.html

Warning....It's a hard story to sit through....(99% of local TV reporting is hard for me to watch)....but at least they got an official park employee to explain and didn't just use online reviews for the whole report.

Great explanation from Lisa! Again this park has an impeccable safety record. All the right things are being done to ensure safe and efficient operations. And as with any new coaster during the first year or two of operations it will have some downtime to get the kinks and bugs worked out. Too bad that info wasn't really included in the article/video.

Nice pics and updates Swoosh. Still kinda baffled why they chose the summer season to do a major reconstruction project like that. Seems like it created a huge bottleneck there.

Yeah this festival is a long time favorite of mine at SDC, was pretty let down by it this year too.

My dad did the artwork in that shop back in the 60's. Sad to see it go. Hope they saved some of it.

^Agreed. TT is really cool but Powderkeg is still king in the department as a launch coaster. Overall PK and WF remain neck and neck as their top coasters after all these years. IMHO

Thanks all.

I was there on Friday and got updated photos and operational video of Time Traveler. I have to say it's gotten A LOT better since it has finally broken itself in. I had not rode it since opening day and it feels quite a bit more intense now.

Really the only gripe I still have is how it stops at the first launch. Hopefully in the off season they can copy/paste the programing used from the second launch onto the first to eliminate that 10 second pause. (which also seems to be having issues stranding riders on the track causing the ride to get shut down for maintenance) Either that or construct some kind of simple show building with some smoke and lights or something.

Random Talk / Re: What's going on in NWA, 2018
« on: May 08, 2018, 02:50:03 PM »
Forgot to mention on an entertainment related note NWA as of Feb 2018 has their own Dave N Busters now. Its in the Pinnacle Hills Promenade where the old food court used to me. I am a game tech there and helped with setting up the facility, so feel free to come say hi. lol

Note if you have been to one before this one is actually half the size of most other DnB's due to them repurposing an existing building.

446
^Agreed on all points.

To Anyone going tomorrow, Good Luck with the new area around TT and going downhill...

If there is the crowd of people like we think there will be, you wont be able to get within 200 yards of that area.  it will be shoulder to shoulder from Browns Candy to Frisco Barn and over to The Train..
Yeah imagine what Christmas will be like... it was already kinda bad around there when everyone was trying to pile up around that area waiting for the train.

^Noticed that too. It started getting bad right there when they did earthwork near TNT for TT. Kinda wonder what happened. The heavy equipment and all the rain we had over the past couple years might have caused a shift.

Yeah sadly I backed out on doing the ACE Conference in anticipation of the impending madhouse. Not my thing.

Went on Friday and was very surprised by the light crowds despite how nice a day it was. One thing that is apparent which I am actually liking, TT has taken all the coaster crowds lol. Everything including PK was a one train wait or a walk on. Only things that had any sort of line or crowd was FITH, TT and of course the train.
