Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2020 Project(s) and Park Developments

Lets settle the argument and call it Mystic Cavern Falls. lol  ::)

But on a serious note, hopefully this is alluding to them keeping the indoor/dark ride segment from the Lost River finale in the new ride. What would be sweet is if they go all out to have a slide/elevator lift built into a faux mountain structure and you slide into a cave for the finale.

I do wonder if new water cannons and another splash pad will go in here somewhere.

Curious what was new about the robbery show? Any specifics with the jokes and such? I was there last week but didn't notice anything new. Could it be possible they simply brought back old lines that hadn't been used in recent years?

Two things I also wanted to note from my trip yesterday, (see the 2020 thread for the bulk of it)

It was pretty awesome to see Flooded Mine backed up all the way out to the train depot on a week day. Haven't seen that in a long time.

Found yet more FITH stuff on clearance. These little basketballs were on sale for less than $3, another omen?

For those curious, here are some construction progress photos. Shot these while at the park yesterday.

Lol ironic, me and some of my storm chasing buddies have been making that joke about obtaining one of them this year considering how treacherous some of the roads have been and not being sure which ones will wind up being underwater next.

Mystic River Falls Construction from Mother's Day
https://www.midwestinfoguide.com/2019/05/mystic-river-falls-sdc.html

Just in case anyone missed the latest update

Thanks for that. And yeah interesting we already got names leaked. Saw those a few days ago and made note of them in my other post. I had also seen they went and further drained what was left of Lake Silver, looks like some construction might move over there soon as they had one of the mini excavators parked over there. And yeah that one hole/footer is still quite massive when seen in person. Definitely gonna be a lift or tower structure of some kind.

It would be pretty cool if they turned AP into a newer version of Buzz Saw Falls that was replaced by Powder Keg.

Not likely to ever happen. While I always had a soft spot for Buzzsaw Falls and thought it had a neat concept with a lot of potential, it just wasn't executed well. It was a major maintenance headache for the park which is why it got converted in the first place. Though some could argue Powderkeg isn't much better maintenance wise.

And now with Time Traveler, they have yet another temperamental coaster on their hands as they have quickly learned. Their next coaster really needs to be a GCI or more notably a B&M.

And also here are a few snapshots and a video of Time Traveler in operation along with the revamped Echo Hollow area. Enjoy!

Well with that being said hopefully the PTB will take note and either make some vast improvements or do something different altogether.

Oh yeah I dunno if this adds to the rumor and speculation that FITH is going away (or at least in its current form) but on my way out yesterday I noticed in the hospitality house a whole display dedicated to FITH merchandise placed on clearance. Considering what has been discussed on here, it does seem a bit alarming.

I purchased two shot glasses nonetheless.

I might get some flak for this but the BBQ was very underwhelming this year in both quality/freshness and selection. Granted I went on a slow Wednesday but still disappointing.

Thanks for the video and insights, I agree it sucks they have been removing more and more stuff from the Train (and elsewhere in the city) to be politically correct, just because a select few get offended.

The last time I saw the Ma performance was (I believe) back in 2016 on a slow day in the fall.
Maybe I never noticed until recently but in the past couple years they have eliminated the screaming in the tunnel and "Shake your fist and call em' UGLY! at the crossing and robbery and "A woman knows how to put her foot down" joke regarding needing the brakes on the train.

But yes the most disappointing aspect is that the guns appear to have been further reduced to nothing more than plastic toy cap gun pistols as you can even see the plastic orange tips on them from time to time on some of them. Very anti-climatic when they shoot them off too.

And of course as it was already discussed, but Hobo Junction has been gone for years and the whole shooting at the boat on the lake that was stolen from the conductor scene. Another prime example elsewhere is the scene changed in FITH with the hanging scene where they had guns aimed at guests as you pass by after the bridge segment which you no longer hear "explode" as you drop.

Branson Talk / Re: Branson Weather 2019

It was actually gusting up to 58mph, had several trees downed all throughout NWA particularly Rogers/Bentonville with power outages as well. Enough to be severe criteria and that's also tropical storm force winds. What it was is a decaying low pressure system was parked right over the area. That doesn't happen often like that.

Did you take that sulphur, ok footage?  That was amazing!!!!

LOL wished I could take credit for that but no that was done by a guy out at one of the OKC stations that grabbed that. I agree it was pretty amazing yet crazy to see.

Waitaminute. You're Brett Adair? You stream, don't you? I feel like I've seen your name before.

No we as storm chasers submit videos thru him on his media streaming network. I am Joshua Myers a local storm chaser at KNWA. BUT more than likely yes you have seen both of our names on the air though.
