Yes, there used to be lumberjack show on Indian Point, and then it was supposed to move out on to 76 not far from the Best Western.  The piece of land is back up for sale.

Branson Talk / Re: Polar Express Review

What plan?  The Polar Express generally doesn't get favorable reviews on the 1branson board or on Trip Advisor.  It's not a re-enactment of the movie.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: How far away do you live from SDC

It's a 3 hour drive from the house to SDC; have to add an extra 30 minutes when we're pulling the trailer to camp at Tall Pines on 265.

Other Parks / Re: Astroworld

I was a BIG Astroworld fan before it was purchased by Six Flags.  When I lived in South Louisiana, we took a trip to Houston when I was in the 8th grade for Beta Club.  Went to Astroworld, the zoo, the Galeria, a Houston Astros game in the Astrodome, and we took the Budweiser factory tour. :o  My senior trip was back to Houston for 2 days at Astroworld.  Loved it!!!

Yes, Janice Martin is the aerilist fiddler who played in Fiery Fiddles at World Fest.  Does anyone know anything about the male ensemble who will be singing?  I guess the group is similar to SIX?? ???  Wonder what the new menu will have?

Still waiting on my issue.  A couple of folks on the 1branson board said they got 2 copies of the Times.

Branson Talk / Re: Christmas lights-2010- Indian Point? Kimberling City?
« on: November 04, 2010, 12:46:03 PM »
Kimberling City sold all of its light displays about 3 years ago so I don't think the Port of Kimberling light display will make a come back.  Last year the Indian Point display at the Corps of Engineers campground wasn't set up due to the economy (it has operated on donations in the past).  I haven't heard anything about it happening this year, either.

Branson Talk / Re: The "health" of Branson area music shows

Some shows have recently closed (Rock and Roll is Here to Stay); the Branson Star Theater and its shows closed this summer.  Today it was announced that the 2010 Promenade of Stars parade in November has been canceled.  Last year it was televised on RFD-TV and several other stations around the country.

My favorite song in Headin' West is "They Call the Wind Mariah".  I could listen to that guy sing it over and over.

It mentions the swings and carousel (among other things) doesn't say anything about the balloon ride.

It doesn't announce anything special for the Christmas Festival in regards to the 50th Anniversary, either.  Sounds as though it's going to be the Christmas Festival as usual which I really, really enjoy but I was hoping for something EXTRA since it's the 50th anniversary.

Someone on the 1branson board said he/she had recently called customer service and was told that another issue of the Times would be mailed in November.

The Times doesn't come out on a regular schedule anymore.  The issue that came out during the summer had BAF coupons that lasted through mid December.  I've already given away one of the coupons but I still have the one that's a BAF for $25 for Saturdays only Nov. 6, 13, 20, and Dec. 4, 11, and 18.  Somestimes if you call customer service the person will let you know if an issue of the Times is available.
