You'll have to set up a new account on the main site. Hopefully I can eventually tie both the site and the forums together, but they're both set up on different databases, so I'm not sure how it all would work out.

Ok, it's actually up and running now - for the most part. I still need to do a lot of tweaking, and a bunch of pages need to be set-up on the new system, but at least the system itself is up and working.

Tell me if you guys experience any bugs, specifically browser bugs. I've tested the site out in IE7 and Firefox, but I haven't even glanced at it yet in IE6, so I'm sure there are some problems there. I haven't actually worked with the registration page too much yet, so it may not even work right now, but I'll fix it later.

^Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was Jim Owen's, it runs around the Wildfire over-flow and under the bridge just before the gift shop.

Just a head's up - I'm going to try to pump out the rest of the site tonight and tomorrow, but when it goes live there will still be a number of issues to fix up. It should be up by tomorrow night unless - as always - I run into some sort of huge problem, or something else comes up and I don't have enough time.

Heh, I still can't believe how long it took me to do this, but now that it's done running and re-theming the site will be so, so much easier. In fact, I'm already working on a new template that will look so much better than this new one.

^^Meh, it's not like they're waiting for kids to fall through before they finally take them out. I'm sure they're probably waiting for the structure as a whole to deteriorate enough to warrant completely taking out. Either way, it won't be too long now.

I would love to see an actual little SDC village built next to the park. That way, guests could actually be citizens of SDC during their stay, and it would ramp up the feel of being in a city even more.

^People will come, but between the Landing, Indian Ridge, the theme parks, Grand Village, Tanger, and everything else in Branson, will there be enough? Unless Branson just keeps experiencing radical growth in the number of visitors it hosts (which it is unprepared for without a massive new, extremely sophisticated mass transit system) it'll be a struggle all around to make these extreme investments worth it.

I mean, I'm all right with Branson growing like this, but it's the way in which everything is planned that just kills me. I can't stand seeing Branson turn into another OKC, where you are forced to drive for miles and miles past crap just to get anywhere.

Man, I hope there are plans to bring back the ropes in some way somewhere else someday, but I guess they are a huge liability with people's legs going through them and little kids getting hurt on them...

I actually hope the Ballons get moved someplace other than the Grand Expo - that area needs to become more like a world's fair and less like a dumping ground for rides. A place in Geyser Gulch could work well.

The carousel can probably go, I don't remember anything redeeming about it, and it's the one ride at SDC that actually shows a lot of wear. Remember the rumor a while back about a huge new carousel with interchangeable horses that came and went with the different seasons and festivals? That would be great in it's own pavilion somewhere near the middle of the city.

Yeah, sorry about the forum photo issue, this forum system just isn't made for photo TR's or anything, which is why I wanted to get PHPBB, but this was a lot easier in the long run.

Eventually you'll all be able to just upload them to the main site yourselves though, so that will be much easier.

Can't wait to see your photos Joy.

^Ugh, what a terrible web site, not to mention the design company that built it. I know this site isn't exactly a piece of art either, but at least I facilitate basic design sense. Tables? What is this, 1997? Gah...

Anyhow, just like SDCforever said - the question really is whether or not all these new resorts can survive. To me, it looks like the Branson planners have really screwed the pooch once again. Just like what we've seen over and over in the past, much of this new developement is going to burst onto the scene in a grand spectacle, then in a year half of it will be closed down. Just think of all the wasted land, resources, and environment...

Another question is, how will White Water fare with this huge new park?

Personally, I hope they don't try to turn the Landing into any sort of new "area" in the sense that it has to have it's own theme to set it apart from the rest of the park. I'd rather they fill the place with shops and make it into a downtown-like area for SDC. Maybe they could keep some of the old play area in tact, and have it sort of work in with the new shops.

Extremely neat find indeed. I love seeing the effects these old favorites brought to the park when they were new. I just wish the Lost River kept more of its theme intact; hardly anyone except for those who visit this site know what the ride actually is besides a fun boat ride.

Maybe it's just an awesome name.  ::)

Then again, it was SDC's first coaster, so if you ask those who were in charge of it, there's probably a tremendous back-story behind it all. I would love to see some of the concept art/ descriptions of it. Was there a story behind it?

Maybe they fluctuate how much air is let into the tanks based on maintainence issues...

Funny how we talk about SDC even in the 'Other' categories.

Man, I've been so busy lately... I'm finding it near impossible to get everything I need to get done done - seems to be a constant theme with me over the last few months.

^Officially? No, but unofficially it's pretty well near damned. I fairly sure it would come down last off-season, but I guess they're keeping it up until they have the ability to put something better in it's place. Maybe that area is slated for something in 2010? It would make sense. Either way, that thing probably needs to come down here in the next couple of years.
