I know....I know....SDC isn't a typical amusement park.

A lot of amusement parks have coasters running behind there amphitheatres....kind of serving as a backdrop to the stage.

I'm sure both FiTH and FM both have capacity for higher numbers than OR.  But do they run higher numbers?

Anyone know if SDC has a max capacity the park can handle?  Surely HFE has done some type of stress test studies on the park.  With the numbers we they are seeing (and going to see during Christmas) there is a stress point where it gets to where people don't come back because of the crowds.  Lord knows that I'm already at that point for basically all Saturdays.  What is the point of going if every attraction and purchase becomes an 30-90min wait in a crowd.

I have a vision of a launch up to a stalled area sort of like Cheetah Hunt and then that plunge from up there

I'd be ok with this....especially if the trains had both traditional floorless cars in front and maybe the spinner cars in rear.  Do a 'hybrid' train that gave different experiences based on where you ride.

That Mack spinner launch would be such a lower ppl/hr....it would have huge lines with just one train and 3 cars.  If SDC builds that they will probably also 2x the sales for trailblazer passes :/. Hope that's not a plan.

Such a sad situation:(  As frustrated as I am about the company and the stupidity of the slides design...I'm sure they didn't want this to happen and still hope the park can recover.  Doubt they put anything in that is "extreme" in to replace it.  At least not for a few more years.  Be interesting if they see if they try it again (new design) there or anywhere else.

Has anyone gone?  Was curious if it's worth the price?  How long does it take to get through?

Hope you're right Swoosh but that Mack announcement coaster sure does looks like it would fit into the concepts they sent out :/

Do we have any idea about the budget to be spent on the ride?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: favorite Coaster
« on: November 18, 2016, 01:48:14 PM »
Thats tough....

All four of the big coasters are probably my favorite of those types of coasters.  I have favorite things about each ride and can't really say which is the better one.  I'll answer like this...

WF: Lift Hill and first drop is spectacular....has to be one of the best views in the country on a coaster and makes the drop feel even more epic than it actually is.
PK:  Best air time in the park....first two hills are extremely fun.
TNT: Amazing mine coaster:  the helix into the tunnel is one of the coolest family friendly coaster moments around.
OR: Most intense (without hurting) coaster I've been on....great adrenaline rush of a ride from end to end.

Then FiTH of course:  A must ride every trip....lately I like to think about how many people have actually ridden that right.  It's a modern day right of passage for the kiddos in our area and just plan fun to ride.

Frankly.....If I get a spin on all 5 of those rides during a visite then I'm a happy camper even if I don't do anything else.

Gotta give HFE credit for keeping everything on the down low.  I mean the fact they are building foundations for something means that at least 90% of the plan has been approved.  But I don't get the feeling from the interwebs that anyone knows exactly what is going on.

Which brings up the question:  Is it more exciting to find out about your presents (new ride) before Christmas (official announcement) or to be completely surprised on Christmas morning (official announcement)?

Not only has everyone left.....who is out there to replace them?  The 'big' artist who benefited from the cassette/CD sales and record deals don't need a Branson show to survive.  They still have money from the peak period and/or still get digital sales.  I mean.....Garth, Tim McGraw/Faith, Toby,  Reba level of artist could probably run shows the draws but who from that level would want to do it (or do it in Branson).  I'm sure there are some 'B level' artist could do it but they also are probably doing fine by doing the Casino circuit tour a few months a year.

It's easier than ever for new artist to release music but it's harder than ever for new artist to be heard and become 'successful' or popular enough to fill a building by themselves (let alone 3-4 shows a night at the same place).  Bransons best bet might be for some type of 'homegrown' talent making it big.

So many shows, but none that I would actually drive and park to go see. If there was an actual district with walkable streets, bars, and other entertainment mixed in I might swing by a few shows just to do the full Branson experience, but I'm not going to drive into Branson and park at some random theater so I can see some no-name essentially perform karaoke with crappy country music.

(Slow...clap)...exactly....Branson needs to figure out how to change it's image.  That model is going to die with the baby boom generation that is already starting to die out.  Watching karaoke shows and talent shows is not entertaining anymore....more specifically the idea of them going to Branson and spending a week or weekend just watching these shows day after day and night after night is a laughable.  Branson needs more interactive stuff and personal experience entertainment....give them opportunities to do something and take selfies.....not to just sit and watch.  I'm not hating on any of the shows, talent, or fans of those shows....it's just a part of Branson I know helped built the town but I'm just calling out what I'm seeing.

Branson still has a lot going for it....Between SDC, the outdoor activities, shopping, some of the new attractions are great....it's still positioned to be a great getaway place for families.  They just need to update the music entertainment and respectfully back away from the "Hillibilly Music Capital" stuff.

It's nuts to me that Branson doesn't have a modern amp or arena to bring in mid to major tours/acts?  NWA is getting better concerts that Branson regularly now.

Construction/Rumors / Re: RMC Mine Train Coaster?

I'd approve....

Your logic does make sense for a biz opportunity for RMC.....but is there really any serious buzz about RMC doing that?  I'm only hearing rumors about their new track design (boxed rails if I recall).....they need to make sure they don't overextend themselves.
