It seems like the changes being made are going for more of a generic theme park feel.

Not all of SDC decisions are made by evil plotting and planning execs.

The sign shop was a lease shop and he chose to close his doors because of his own reasons.

I personally laugh at the flying elephants and the swinging pirate ship, they are sore thumbs to me.  And I wish we could have had a unique wave swinger like Holiday World. They could have included Ozarks scenes on the Wave Carousel with Shad, Molly and others.

I like pine/ceder trees in the Ozarks, they provide some color in the winter.

When it comes to exchanging vouchers you need to go to the ticket booths with the people you are getting in and show your ID and Season Pass that matches the voucher.  You then can proceed to the turnstiles where you can enter with or without your guests. (Guest Vouchers once exchanged must be used on that day)  As for IDing at the turnstiles- if you are a Season Pass holder your pass says you may be ID, so you need to have it with you just in case they ID you.

It is best to arrive before 10:00am and after 1:00pm or you may have to wait in line.

Well it seems to be pretty consistent now- if you don't have a pass holder with your voucher you can buy a ticket or go get your pass holder.  Can you imagine how long the SP Only turnstile would be and then when the person that doesn't get in starts to yell at the turnstile employee and backs the line up even more, that would be crazy and a nightmare.

Well since they have redone this program you can't just go through the turnstiles with a voucher.

You must take your voucher with the correlating Season Pass holder to a ticket booth first.

If you purchased your passes together then they should all be part of the same confirmation number, this number is located at the bottom left of your pass and voucher.  As long as your numbers match you can exchange that voucher for a ticket.

So if you have a pass that matches two vouchers for the appropriate date than only one pass holder needs to be in line with your photo ID and Season Pass.

That is no "loophole" that is the way it's intended to be. Any PAID ticket can be upgraded to a Season Pass. SDC wants you to bring your friends and family as a guest hoping they will want to come back as a SP holder. You won't receive Guest Vouchers with an upgrade, but it is a great price for returning as often as you want.

The Peanut Butter Palace was located where Aunt Polly’s Restaurant is located now; that building was also a candy shop as well.

Guest Voucher Question...
If you purchased your season passes back in December than your Guest Vouchers are free, but you still have to exchange your vouchers at the ticket booths.  If you purchase your Season Passes today till March 9th you will receive Guest Vouchers that cost $10 plus tax and their date of use is more limited than the Guest Vouches that came with the SP purchased back in December.

SDC Memories/ Park History / Re: Where was the Marvel Cave Cabin?
« on: February 07, 2012, 06:10:15 PM »
The Lynch home was located where SDC now stores its festival booths and other such items.  Basically, it was located just across the road from Uncle Ike’s post office.  It was willed to Velma Bass, she worked for the Lynch family and many of SDC’s archived Lynch photos came from Velma.  The house looked closer to numbers 10-12; I was given an old glass bottle from the building before it was removed.  I am not sure if number 9 is the same building.  At one time the Lynch family had built several cabins to house guests to the property and I know two of them completely burned (not 100%, but the burned cabins may have been located closer to the Cave).  There is a good article about a city ladies visit to Marvel Cave, I will have to dig and find it, she was from Chicago and she describe the cabin and the Lynch sisters rather well.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Now on ebay!!

I have a habit of searching Ebay for SDC & Marvel Cave related stuff.  Just like seeing old souvenirs and such.

What is worse?
People selling used BAFs on Craig’s List and Ebay.  Some people are evil!

The Season Pass $18 Parking pass is a good example of SDC listening to its guest comments.  Enough people voiced their opinion and now SDC is experimenting with it.  SDC does listen to their guests.

You can question me- you wouldn’t be the first.

As long as you order passes at the same time (same transaction) your passes and guest vouchers will have the same id number on them.  You only need one season pass in the ticket line with your guest vouchers to turn them into tickets.

Example: Dad, Mom and Child 1, Child 2 bought passes at the same time.  They all receive 5 guest vouchers each.  Now the family is at SDC on the appropriate voucher date to turn them into tickets.  Dad stays with kids while Mom takes her season pass, ID and vouchers to a ticket booth to turn them into tickets.

Remember the numbers MUST match and always bring an ID.

If you use heat to laminate the pass it will turn black, but if you laminate them with room temperature (cool) lamination it’s fine.  Buy a sheet of lamination and photo copy your ID and combine the two when laminating them.

JMC75- did you buy all of your passes at the same time?  If you did, check the number on the pass they should all be the same which means as long as a pass holder with that number is present you can turn the guest voucher into a ticket.

Reuben Branson was the original postmaster whom the city is named for.  He was not a Baldknobber, but relatives of his were; many still live in the area.

This is hilarious, while cleaning the cave out over the years I have found some of these.  I found a grape one just the other day.  I personally don’t remember them, but I know they will last in extreme conditions for thirty plus years.
