General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2013 Trip Reviews...
« on: September 24, 2013, 06:09:08 PM »
That lady is super sweet and if she doesn't know an answer to your question she will try and find out; plus she doesn't even work for SDC.  You try hiring a workforce that big from a population of mostly retirees- they try to get local and American citizens, but sometimes they have to go elsewhere; and that lady is an American citizen.  The Christian teen programs in the summer really help SDC out; I don't know what they would do without them.

I read and re-read my posts before I put them out for others to read.  I would advise others to do the same- some are just plain mean.

As of right now the Paid Guest Vouchers are valid for the After 3 Next day free program.  That is a great way to spread the $20/$25 Moonlight Madness Guest Voucher.  That means 3pm-10pm and then the next day 9:30am-10:00pm.  Or since it is a paid voucher you can upgrade it towards a Season Pass.  Or if you came before 3pm you can stop by the Exchange/Stroller booth and buy a come back ticket for around $20 for adults.

There are a few ways you can stretch your dollar!!!

The website doesn't mention Guest Vouchers (BAFs) because they are no longer offered with a Season Pass; that benefit went away with the pre-season prices.

This means YOU the pass holder only receives unlimited visits.

$5 off full-price, one-day regular adult (ages 12-61) or child (ages 4-11) admission for up to 6 guests visiting with you (all operating days, except April 6).

Guests that visit with a Season Pass holder can receive $5 off their full price ticket.

Tickets are non-transferable.  Which means whoever uses them the first time uses them the second time or any time after.  You can loose the tickets over something like that.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Big Jacks Sandwich Shop
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:08:30 PM »
Subway, hmmm...  When they first announced they were re-doing Big Jack's menu I thought why don't they set it up like subway???  Cut the meats and have the toppings all out so guests can go down the line and get their food.  Fast and delicious.  When I saw the pre-made sandwiches I was very disappointed.

I feel it's going to take a major upgrade to Center City to see Jacks open again.  Grandfather's mansion has a new roof and as time goes by you will notice updates within it.  Maybe this is the start to something better for Center City, but something has to happen to draw people there.

RB capacity is amazing- you would need to see the numbers to make an accurate assessment.  Also, RB doesn't remove boats so they are always at maximize capacity; you must take several factors in consideration.  I think it meets a need- parents with small kids can ride a water ride together, it's another water ride with great theme and it's an interactive ride.

Price Cutter $30 Thursdays! Save on admission to Silver Dollar City & White Water when you purchase your tickets at Price Cutter or a Price Cutter affiliate. Now through October.

These tickets are valid to upgrade to a SDC Season Pass or a SDC & White Water Season Pass.  You do have to purchase these tickets through a Price Cutter store i.e. Country Mart is one of these stores and there is some in Branson and Branson West.

Just an extra way to stretch your $$$$ if you wish...

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Best Deal of Season Passes extended
« on: January 08, 2013, 08:02:44 PM »
This has been the way for a long time...

With a one day paid admission you can trade that ticket in and for X amount of money you get a Season Pass to come all year long.

Since the park doesn't allow the following years Pass to be used the year before many people opt for this (I do like how Dollywood does it though).  However, when you do this it is a $20 discount and doesn't include Guest Vouchers.  If you do pay for a full price Season Pass you will receive Guest Vouchers, but the voucher benefit does end, usually in late spring.

Something different about the vouchers for this year July 20 - August 4 Moonlight Madness Voucher is $20 for all day rather than free after 6pm.  And if you waited this late to buy your passes Saturdays will be block out dates in December.

Also I hear Season Pass sales are up!!!  I think this season is going to be a busy one.

I agree with all of you- they stopped short with theme.  It does provide a place for the little ones to enjoy rides with their parents or older siblings.  My problem is like Shave's, the elephants and pirate ships.  These could have been themed appropriately.  I would also like to see Victorian colors, the place is so pale and boring when it comes to color.

As for bumper cars: They could be themed as bulls and placed by the giant swing. lol

It looks like her handwriting. And she came from Canada and could have been corresponding with friends or family.  I would recommend buying it, and no I am not the one selling it. lol

The Taffy Shop near the train depot was my first job.  I miss when they constantly made taffy over and over again all day long.

Betamike- We were the Maple family who thought Taffy was the only way to go when it comes to candy.  We wouldn't have your fancy brittle and fudge. lol

The good old days!!!

SDC Memories/ Park History / Re: Balloon Chase

Every time I walk past the area that the old Ore Cart coaster used to be, I envision the Balloon Chase there.  I also think it would be nice to move the magic shop near there and use the Medicine Wagon as the stage and incorporate all of them into one story.  Some type of salesman that has magical balloons to go with his magic shop and show.  I could elaborate, but that could take a long time.

I read a book when I was in elementary school that was similar to this.

That sign shop would have been a good retirement business.

Well... now it is your chance!
