Did anyone find out what they did for Friday night's show? Twitter and all said nothing.

Pretty much the long range forecast past Monday in Springfield/Branson is rain every day for at least 2 weeks. Trying to plan for whether to drive down if raining after work.

I love the new change to have the big name bands play in the evening at echo hollow, but what is the plan for it raining? Most are there only one day and if it is raining like now, I am assuming shows will be cancelled. But is there a fallback plan?

I plan to leave from work every night to get there for the headliner... so if the show id definitely not going in would bd good to know before wasting time/gas

Went yesterday, April 12. The other thread said 5100 people there but seemed like a lot more than that. The weather was a little windy but otherwise was a really nice day

I mainly went to see the shows. I saw most of them... there were issues with all of them but cirqunique really. They definitely were not in their groove yet. The Phoenix Fire show had a false start and then about a 5 minute wait before the show actually started... with dead air the whole time. Was kind of awkward. The iharp extreme show also had some initial issues. I am sure everything will be worked out but really was surprised the shows were not tighter

I saw Eric Haines (Cute but corny), Cirqunique (I did not see this last year... it was enjoyable), Iharp extreme (I think they added the "extreme" to try to generate hype... as it was just typical harp music), Albert Lucas (they put him in worst theater for a juggler... but it was fun). I had the meat lovers nachos and that was good.

It certainly seemed like there were more people. The phoenix fire show was 90% full. The Cirqunique was 99% full. Most of the other shows were also pretty full. A few busses there for schools. Fairly crowded overall. but a great day to go

I checked spam, junk, everywhere and never got the confirmation. It was charged on my CC so that is why I called (when it finally hit me that I had not received them yet)

But I received my pass so all is good. But like I said, when I called on Jan 18 she told me they were just then working on the Jan 2 purchased passes. So seem to be running about 3 weeks from order to receipt

I actually called last Saturday because I ordered Jan 4 and never even got a confirmation email that order went through. Apparently they have been swamped as last Saturday they had just started running the passes ordered 1/2. I did get mine today, though.

She resent my confirmation email and I never did get it at all. Not sure why

The 12th and 13th are closed also - a wednesday and thursday. But the rest seems normal. Those are the only 2 "extra" days I am seeing

I seem to remember a report of rattlesnakes in FITH and someone getting bitten in the late 70's early 80's. Or rather, I remember my parents saying something about it. That may not be true though...

My friend and I went Wednesday night for the first time this year. She had gone with me last year to see the Midtown area as well... It is a lot.

Everything outside of Midtown seems kind of like an afterthought. Like... we had some extra lights let's throw them here. I think the downside of Midtown being SO bright and SO much is that everything else seems drab. And not having the lights across lake silver to reflect in the drained lake silver is kind of sad too.

I would agree on the No Saturday pass... Except some of the bands for Bluegrass And BBQ and the other concerts are on Saturday. I avoid Saturdays like the plague but sometimes it is hard to when you really want to see a band

Swoosh... I don't think it is hurting anything at all. I just wish the money had been spent to take care of the poor/needy or less fortunate... The thing Jesus and the church did for years until the last 30 or so where it became about something else entirely. And that is just my skewed opinion as I live in Springfield and really not far from my house are many less fortunate. I see them out and I am just as guilty for not necessarily trying to help. I should often practice my own words...

It will definitely be used from a landmark standpoint. I just have a feeling it is not going to be kept up and will be an eyesore in a few years.

I saw this for the first time yesterday and I will say that from the one vantage point it is a really cool sight going south... And I say this as someone who is VERY not christian...

BUT... I have issues with the money being spent for this as a "witnessing" tool. There are so many unfortunate people in the Springfield and Branson area and that $2 million could have went a long way towards helping the community. A LONG way...

And I guess this falls into the "What Would Jesus Do" category as I am pretty sure THIS is not how he would have spent that money. For that matter... Seems like this is a blatant "graven image" that was also banned...

I guess I don't get it. And the "tears" are creepy AF when you get to a point where they are obvious

I went on Sunday the 16th. Got there a bit before opening. Quite a lot more traffic than I was expecting but it was quite warm. I have taken to riding my motorcycle when going alone and that makes getting parked and leaving SO much easier.

Each year it seems like there are less and less craftspeople... But I think the truth of the matter is that the last couple years the craftspeople there just did not have crafts I was interested in. I am more into paintings and photos and there were just a few of each. I saw the Farnum Family which I was skeptical of at first and then they played a version of "Pancho and Lefty" that I enjoyed immensely. Sawy The Western Flyer as well but I have trouble getting into Texas swing music. I intended to see the western show but the lines for it were past the barn and I was not in the mood to stand in the sun and wait.

I am hoping to get back in early October when they switch out the craftspeople but not sure my schedule is going to allow that.

I did manage to finally get a recording of the train whistle and it rolling by sans conductors... Hoping to use this in a song. I stood near Red Gold Hall and waited until it came around that bend. I would have preferred the longer whistle earlier in the ride, but figured trying to ride and record would be ruined by all of the people on the train.

With the crowds I have seen this year even on my normal visiting day of Sunday, I am not looking forward to Christmas crowds

So wait... There used to be a slide at the end of Huck Finn's Hideaway (As I knew it)? I remember the space room where it was all black with mirrors and christmas lights... That always freaked me out when I was a kid

And a Cannon shooting platform???!?!??! That would have been so cool to see. I remember when you were able to buy and shoot muskets. My dad actually bought one from there one year on vacation

I went to Dollywood for the first time last Thanksgiving. I also could say I was a bit disappointed. I am not much into rides anymore and it just didn't have a lot to fill my time. Shows did not seem as good. I am sure it does have its merits and I am sure if I rode the rides I would probably feel differently. I went because I was driving cross country from Springfield, MO to Charleston, SC and then to St. Augustine, FL and then back. But I will say I probably won't go back at least not soon. Although I would love to hit up their bluegrass festival too.

I will say I was doing all this traveling and all alone so that probably biased it some too.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Running sound?
« on: June 19, 2018, 03:52:31 PM »
This is slightly random but I don't have an answer...

What does it take to be able to run sound at SDC? I know in general it is probably a matter of knowing the right person. But I've seen a younger girl there doing it too.
