High Low Silos, I get the idea of pulling yourself up bit the kids want something like the thing at Celebration City.

My kids love the High Low Silos...and it is a great workout for the arms...

One loves it, the other three call it boring. Put in a drop tower and everyone is happy. I want SDC to have of all and be THE park in Middle America

.

Yeah, it's like Swoosh is role playing as a hall monitor ;D

If your not endangering anyone,  swing for the fences. Modern tech is making keeping things hush hush or tightly controlled impossible.

Oh. You shouldn't take photos from rides.  The train is all right but taking it on the coasters is a huge no-no.  Please refrain from now on.

He likely used something similar to what we hunter use to film POV action on the deer stand and in the duck blind.

Doesn't matter what he used, he still took photos from a ride which is against the rules no matter how you slice it.

Oh well.

Awesome pics!  Probably not a good idea on powderkeg, however you get a much better perspective of the size from there.  No insider knowlege here, but I have this feeling that as fast as this is progressing, this is not just going to be an expansion of wilsons farm, but a whole new area.  If they finish the coaster by say September, they would have several months to build more shops etc before next season.  With the amount of potential real estate available, they could add more flat rides in coming years too.

I got a couple of issues with Wilson Farm. Most barns in the Ozarks weren't painted red. The giant swing rocks, the props rock, that shade of red stinks.

High Low Silos, I get the idea of pulling yourself up bit the kids want something like the thing at Celebration City. I understand the area was designed while CC was open and it made sense to not replicate rides but...................times have changes. Wilsons Farm is like Half Dollar Holler, it's a kiddie flat ride away from feeling somewhat complete and the frog race thing needs scraped and where's the farmyard petting zoo.

I'm from Memphis, you don't want my opinion on the pork. It would excessively harsh. This year, I just happened to miss going back for the Memphis in May BBQ Contest so eating that was an assault on my discerning taste buds.

Well, after riding the trainbut not being able to take pictures cause I had my hands full with 4 kids, I can tell it's going way down in the ravine and the banked curves are tight. There's a moment where if you have a fast finger on a fat frame per second eight you can really see down in there.

Loved that the rain petered out and left us with a shady sky. Lines were short and sweet.

What about like a moon car ride and throughout the ride there could be like old Moonshining Distillaries, you could pass through an old bridge that goes over a creek, then a couple cabins with animatronics pickin their banjos on the front porch.

I've given that some thought and the term "Blow your Top" comes to mind. That's where I see drop tower theme come into play. Shoot straight up and drop right back down.

Believe it or not, they tried growing cotton in the Ozarks in the late 1800s. I've seen the crop records for Newton Co. Arkansas. Another attraction could be themed around an old cotton gin. The cars would resemble a cotton bale.

The picture in the middle kinda reminds me of The Mystery Mine at DW.

Mystery Mine is a EuroFighter but longer than the compact version they stuck on a pier as shown in the last photo.

do a youtube search on:  Steel Hawg POV for another El Loco example.

Both rides offer a beyond vertical drop, the El locos have a tight little corkscrew at the end of the rides

Also, saw new saloon show characters near the saloon -- a new saloon girl and a new Fabian.  Twice we saw the lady begging for folks to come in for the saloon show well after the doors had opened.

I have seenthis as well a few times this year. And not on days the park was slow, I wonder if people are losing interest in the show?

I'd go in if was the only place in the city to get some beer, it is a saloon after all ; ).
Oh, but you can get a beer there I think the brand name is ROOT  ;) ;D

That's horse pee.

^Remember the interview that was posted a few months ago about CC? He stated that it would be necessary to have that access in place in order to make the land appealing to sell or operate again as an amusement park. It was just too much of a traffic jam when CC was open for some people to even attempt to make it to the park.

^^Nope, the Thunderbolt from CC was sold earlier this year and is headed to Colorado. The Outlaw's track is dark and in half lengthwise pieces.

I'm surprised it's taking them so long to get the track out of there. I think the ride is supposed to reopen pretty soon, but it doesn't look like they're repainting it.

That's a lame excuse. CC was easy to get to if you avoided 76 coming from the east. I'll get up on my soapbox again, it's problem was that it was an general admission place and made it cost prohibited. We had it included in our season ticket package for SDC so it wasn't so much a hassel for us. It needed to operate on a free admission basis with you paying for the rides either by a per ride basis or wristband. It needed individual franchises like Qudoba, Chipolte, five guys, a Hooters. Starbucks, Cherry Berry and so on.   A bowling alley and other things that's indoors to help with the winger season. A new indoor waterpark along the lines of Great Wolf Lodge that offers much better rooms than Grand Country. I can't tell you how many times during the winter we just up and go someplace for a weekend to lift our spirits. An indoor ice staking rink would help with year around drawing.

No, Celebration City was the runt of the litter when the financial crisis hit and that is what did it in. Truth be told I think it may have done better if it had stayed open.

Somethings don't make much sense, the sea lion show in a make shift venue in the baking sun with ths heavy Russian accents, the cheaply done Veggie Tale show only worth going to because it was air condioned, paying a heathy admission to pay premium prices on so so  concessions and to pay even more for things like the arcade games. No, don't blame traffic, blame a bad business model.
