Branson Talk / Re: Disney Theme Park in Branson by 2014
« on: July 19, 2012, 06:43:46 PM »
I've given this some fleeting thought to this and it's not to very serious but a spit balling what if.

A year round Disney presence in Branson keeping with the tradition it being a theater/live performance town.

Disney Resort. A place that caters to both the public and the Disney time share arm that offers amenities like a very large indoor water park as well as an outdoor one. All themed to the old style, think the old water park down in FLA.

movie theaters that show Disney classics free to lodge guests.

Part of the resort would be a state of the art theater that would host the rotating traveling shows that Disney tours with every year as well as stage shows.

Examples include current shows like this:
Disney on Ice
Phineas and Ferb
Loin King
Mary Poppins

as well as concerts from their young musical stars before they go ballistic.
Think Spears, Cyrus, Jonas Bros. Selena Gomez

They have tons to keep it booked and busy and they could put on a great Christmas show

the resort could offer outdoor activities like a circular man made stream for floating, adventure courses and a very shallow pond that would double as a ice skating rink in the winter.

If they wanted a small scale theme park, an indoor one like the ones that are being developed in Asia instead of a fullscale hundreds of acreas outdoor park, Themed around a disney carnival

Here's a Transsomething park in Asia

Branson Talk / Re: Red Roof Outlit Mall Status

I haven't ventured into Branson this year, but I thought that the stores that didn't have a presence at Tanger that was at Red Roof was mostly going to Meadows cause it was managed by the same outfit, Simon. There's really nothing all that cheap about outlets. Lots of them have product lines just for those stores.

Man, it's hard to see something on a grand scale that folks think of when the name Disney that is feasible for a year around operation in Mid America.

Betamike, has Disney studied plans of themed resorts like Great Wolf Lodge or The Wilderness in the Smokies that would also serve their timeshare/ Vacation Club operation without diminishing the attractiveness of their destination parks.

never liked it cause it seemed inside out with the back of the stores showing on the perimeter.

Same thing runs rampant in East Tennessee. If anything, they'll build timeshare resorts with heavy Disney Theming and go from there.

This is going off into a New attractions direction but here is the new ride at California Adventure, kinda like bumber boats but on dry ground

It doesn't have to be cars per se.... come up with some kinda fictional steam powered hovercraft contraption.

You'll hear a negative like capacity get thrown out.

Could the rides have been themed better?  Absolutely!  Custom themes on flat rides and for that many at one time would have been outrageous.  It's been hashed out but the rides were needed and filled a giant void. The idea for GE was right but  most of the rides don't fit. The swing and teacups do, I can even go the electro spin, but the pirate themed uncovered  Himalaya doesn't but is one of my son's favorites.

There is no reason a new Diving Bell attraction couldn't be put in with the human interaction and with today's technology it would be off the chain. I think most that are not huge fans that visit multiple times a year think the park is one of the best themed parks there is outside of your mega parks like Disney World.

I find FITH a classic but honestly it's end is jerky and a bit rough. My kids are not impressed with the visuals as I was in 82, the first time as a 7 year old that I rode it.

Coasters and thrill rides are a necessity and the park needs a couple more after the Ozarkian Beast they are building out back. I still don't understand why they yanked out the Waterboggan without an immediate plan for the area considering that Dollywood's version is still going.

You'll probably have to wait until July for any more major updates from me or chadster. I'm heading out to California and he's going on the Leviathan trip with TPResidue.

Well, it's July :D

What's lost in that picture is how you get to the top where you nearly get nearly completely upside down.  There are now two known insane elements, the drop and this and we are clueless as to what's in the ravine.

My daughter and son in law operated a fireworks tent for their preacher, who has a total of 8 tents scattered in the state. A burn ban was put in place in the county their tent was in...grand total of fireworks sold in 7 days: $45.00 Whoops!

It's a risk and I'm glad folks followed the burn bans. They needed 10 pumpers down here by Stonebeidge in Fayetteville cause someone was towing a truck with a logging chain and started fires all up and down a county road.

that picture shows them better and that's the side rails for the walkway along side the lift hill. They are laying on the rails and the posts are keeping them there.

How does that explain the footers next to the beginning of the lift hill directly underneath the second opening?

It was said earlier that those were for the exit. that means the exit would go up and over the drop out of the station. I see them turning like the drop out of the stationlike a track is goingro run alongside it there. I Believe earlier pictures indicated footers on the other side the line up with that opening as well, so I guess there two exits and that seems a long way from the service bays for there to be some kind of shuttle there like Wildfire.

What are the beams that run from side to side on the lift? It almost looks like it's going to be enclosed.
Stairway

They go from one side to another over the track

There also appears to be a solid wall between the load stand and the area of what many think is the exit, sure that's not a fly though?

I looks like an inversion but not a roll. It's like those curves  banked outwardly on an S&S el loco
