General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Flooded Mine vs. FITH!
« on: September 09, 2013, 05:57:16 PM »
You know as a a kid i loved FITH. But when I finally went back it always seemed a lot less of a ride. I have finally figured out why, it's because it is. If you look at the pic I took at the SDC Ace event in the backstage tour you will see where a section of the ride has been painted with grey paint...

that would be great! No woodies dont have razzle dazzle of the steel, but I feel that the woodie has a better look in the woods.

For those of you that thing woodies dont have the "Razzle Dazzle"  you need to get in your car and drive to Holiday World and get on the Voyage. This is still my favorite wood coaster I have ever ridden.

Start with a big lift hill and first drop and follow it up with some 90 degree banked turns.

I have 2 things to say here..  :)

If they are going to go cheap I think they need to convert Wildfire to a floorless, especailly since themeing of it would preclude being able to theme a flyer.

My question is who saw undercover boss? Who looked at what the front gate guy built using roller coaster tycoon? Who realizes it kindof takes up the space of what has been shut down? If the series was filmed last year that would give them time design and at least start tracking. (My secret hope is that would be an intamin vs a B&M)

I like the S&S version of this concept better, they have one at Indiana Beach.

I just hope it's not a freakin Zip Line. But looking at the area and terrain and the fact the bogin tower would make a good launch point.

Branson already has too many of these, I just hope it's not a Zip line.

White Water Discussion / WW in 2011
« on: July 19, 2010, 01:46:20 AM »
Was at white water a couple weeks ago. There was a guy in the lazy river explaining to his kid that they were going to be tearing out the current lazy river at the end of the season and rebuilding it into something that was much larger and took you to other places in the park.

After looking at the contition of the lazy river and the fact it looks like it's about to disentegrate this wouldn't suprise me. I would guess with Schlitterbahn opening in KC this may put some pressure on them to do more.

Someone has also told me the the Bermuda Triangle is going away after this year, if this is true, I hope it's in prep for a tornado.

Hey everyone. I don't know how many people knew Tom Roush that worked at the caity for many years, even robbed trains for a while. Hwe passed away last weekend due to complications of diabetes complications which caused him to retire.

He was a good friend and will be missed.

I was on the train a couple of weeks ago and got to see something I thought was ultra-cool. We had to make the stop at the old robbery location to build up steam and poof the fire went out.

2 things really neat happened. I was sitting up in the fron and got to see them re-light it.
Also the conductor spent some time talking about the trains and where they came from.

My favorite train ride ever.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / New SDC Coaster
« on: January 16, 2009, 06:35:26 PM »
I am being told by a guy I work with that SDC has a new billboard. I am trying to figure out from him where it is.

He is saying that it depicts a roller coaster that is not yet in the park. He has seen it multiple times and is sure it's not Wildfire.

I'll find out where it is and check it out... If it's anything exciting I'll post the pic here.

Thier parking problems are not a work in progress they are a tradition.

To be honest if they had been responsible and made the new lots safe to walk to I wouldn't be so angry. To force customers to wait in an hour long line to get to thier cars in my opinion is bad business.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Season Passes On Sale Today
« on: January 08, 2009, 07:36:58 PM »
You missed my point. The poin is they raised the price almost to the point that thier new two parks pass is basically the same price as the old 3 parks pass.

I think it's dumb that they charge the same money for a Water park that is only open for 3 1/2 months that has far fewer attractions as a park that is only closed about 3 months out of the year.

Money hungry as always and can't figure out why they are one of they only amuesment companies that has declining attendance and not posting profits.
