Okay- I totally change my vote to zipline, zipline, zipline.    I do not necessarily care if they put one in or not- but a zipline has got to be what that tower will be used for.

A couple of years ago, I was practically sure that a woodie was going to dropped off the hill behind the farming area near the entrance of the park.  There is plenty of room for development and it could force gp to walk through a part of the park that is sometimes overlooked.
Why is everyone sure that the old tower is going to be incorporated into a new ride?  Did SDC say that the tower would be used in a new ride and that SDC knew how they were going ot use it?  What stops SDC from adding a few safety features, telescopes/binoculars, and plaques explaining points of interest and call it a new observation deck?

I'm not sure what to think about this.  Is this truly an new addition . . .or just putting back one of the three that they ripped out last year.  My kids will like it. . .but what will they rip out in order to install this one? ???

I had no idea about the injuries.  I wish they would have given some hint that it was coming out.  My son loved the thing and I tend to like rare rides.

Did anyone foresee that the Waterboggan was coming down?

Did the park say anything about it to the general public coming down before shutting it down for the season around labor day last year?

Seriously, the only good thing about KK was Greezed Lightning.  Do you think the next park to get it will also be cursed?

If a ceiling collapsed, maybe years of snow may have been a factor.  IK've only been there twice, but I really did like that park.  It hit me as what a small amusement park should be.

White Water Discussion / NOTHING NEW in 2010
« on: September 24, 2009, 01:53:52 PM »
I went ot WW on the last day of operation.  Sorry, I should have posted weeks ago:

First of all:  is WW stupid or something?  ( A.)  It is just too dumb that there is no signage at the bottom of Bermuda Triangle's hill stating that the  ( B.) height requirement has changed in the last month of operations.  I know of two rides that changed during the season and it is a little rough for a six year old to swallow that he could ride something in June, but cannot ride it in September because after years of operation, the ride suddenly could not be used by people under 48 inches.

With that said:  the operator of Bermuda Triangle told me that the slide would be used in the 2010 season and replaced in 2011.  He said that there would be no changes in 2010.

If I go next year, I'm going to see if there are some discounts on Craigslist.  It seems like there are tons of discounts.

Today, the Big Splash water park is selling season passports for $25 in celebration of next years 25 anniversary.  I was about to buy some passports and then started to have second thoughts.  Didn't Big Splash have something to do with Bell's Amusement park's rent going through the roof?  If they did play a role in closing Bell's, should I be getting season passports to that water park- even if it is filthy cheap?

I think that SDC has spoiled us a bit into believing that we should never wait in a line over 10 min.  I went to Fiesta Texas last year and waited in a line for an hour and had to laugh.  (Oh yeah, this is what a normal amusement park is like.)

I've always wondered if it was part of the script for the actors to drop lines and start laughing at themselves.  Kind of Branson style chummy-ness.  I'm pretty sure that it is intentional unprofessionalness designed to build a relationship with the audience.  If it is not planned, the line dropping has happened too many times and I'd have to agree with dropping the show. . .but it's got to be intentional.

I was wondering about the tree rumor: there is simply no way that 2 trees were replaced for every tree that was trashed during the parking lot project- no way

I wish that the large number of people in the park had something to do with how fast the hole in Tom Salyers landing was filled.  It seems that the low number of people had something to do with that hole never being filled in the first place.
