Saturday, September 24th will be another busy day.

I think you might want to change the title of this discussion to 2018  ;)

People are not leaving in huge numbers after the tree lighting and parade.  The warm weather means they don't have to rush out after these events.  They can stay and have fun while the rides and attractions are open till closing.

So this means there aren't tons of parking spaces available to guest arriving later in the day.  You can add more buses which they have done, but if the guest aren't leaving there are no spots available to stick all the cars heading SDCs way.

You can go to any of the ticket windows too - everyone says guest relations and that is why everyone waits so long.  They are supposed to be there for the big issues like tickets being purchased at a resort and forgotten or I had a terrible experience at the buffet. Now that tickets is a single line - you don't get stuck behind the lady with a coupon from 1984 and arguing with them when they say it's no longer valid. lol

You do understand the cost of producing the three big Holiday shows isn't cheep and I think the ticket value isn't just based on lights alone.  I do agree that both Dickins' and It's A Wonderful Life need to add a show on Saturdays - this means they need to do a quick turnaround during the busiest part of the day so that they can get people into the show faster and off the streets.  As long as Jack and Sherry Herschend are around I don't think we will see Dickins' go away.  I do think you will appreciate how they are re-doing some things for the Holidays.  I don't want to ruin it, but I was excited about it.  Also, I think it is time to completely overhaul the entrance and exits.  A lot of people could be out of the park as a large number of people are entering, but it isn't possible with the bottleneck even when they reroute guest that are entering down to the Candy Gate Entrance.  It needs to be like a revolving door and not the Berlin Wall.

If you purchase the full price ticket and enter after 3pm on your first visit you can come back the next day with no additional charge; that offer goes through October 29th.  If you enter on the Moonlight Madness ticket at 5pm it is only good for that evening unless you upgrade it to a season pass or purchase a come back ticket at the Rental Booth.  And yes, they have trailblazers available all day long.

Not to be a jerk, but the coupon prices are the same as the last few years.  I'm surprised they even send a $30/$40 ticket coupons - I would make you pay full price.

The High Road 465 was supposed to connect to the junction of 265 & 165 next to the Chateau on the Lake and just before Table Rock Damn.  I remember reading John Q Hammonds sacrificed a planned golf course for his Chateau because this road was "going to happen."  I was pretty young back then, but I think some local people were really upset with the road thinking it would take tourists away from Branson.

As for CC- I like a lot of your ideas, but I think HFE needs to concentrate on SDC improvements such as finishing the parking lot upgrade and completely remolding the entrance and exit.  And there is other infrastructure that needs to be finished or improved if they want to continue to grow that park.

« on: November 13, 2013, 11:21:51 AM »
Either of those days will be alright- attendance will probably be around 8,000 on Thr and 8,500 on Fri.  There is a chance of rain on Fri.  Friday tends to be a little busier then Thr, but not much unless school is out.

The Super Pass/2Park pass has always had better guest vouchers with them (including November).  The new thing this year is the pass from April 5 - December 30.  It can be used in-between the other dates or in conjunction with the other dates or even let your guest in free during Moonlight Madness.  They are really trying to make the Super Pass the best buy.  Even if you don't go to White Water I think some people can use it to their advantage.

Click on learn more... and then... View Benefits and it shows what each Guest Voucher is for each type of pass.  Notice the 2 Park Super Pass now has a voucher (Free: April 5 - December 30 not valid 11/28 & 29) so if you were wanting to bring someone in the times the other vouchers are not valid now you can.  You can also not use your $20 MM voucher and just use the free one if you want.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Your Festival Ideas
« on: September 24, 2013, 07:38:09 PM »
Love your ideas History Buff- I know many people who would go for that including me.

Also, I don't think SDC should shy away from Halloween by an means.  WOF & SF can have the frightening versions of the holiday, that is fine and WOF does an awesome job at it.  SDC's version would be family friendly and all about bringing families together for the holiday.  I think they could really own this, maybe even have a 10pm closing on Saturdays during Sept & Oct something I know people in the area would like to see happen.  The train could turn into "The Legends of the Ozarks" and have a fun and scary feel; the area has numerous stories to tell.  I think this could help revitalize a festival that has been struggling with its identity the last few years.
