After months of intermittent work, I think we're finally ready to start rolling out the newest incarnation of SDCFans. The new upgrades will provide a cleaner interface, easier to use features, and MUCH easier management for me. I will also be working through the site's content, re-writing most of it and adding much more to our historical sections.
The forums will stay mostly the same, though I'll probably switch out the default background and re-do more of the footer to include boxes for upcoming events and latest user postings on the main site.

There's still a bit to do, so expect to see some bugs and a lot of changes between this and what actually goes live.
If all goes well, the new site will be live sometime between tonight and next weekend. After the initial launch, there will still be a lot of shuffling stuff around and fixing/changing things. Any input to help us along would be great!

I really like the look of the upgrade Steve. I like how it is similar to the current site yet has a more rustic look like SDC. I also like how the forum activity is right in the center of the page. Couldn't find any bugs on first look.

Will the new site work with I-Phone?

^I'm not doing anything special for smartphones yet, but I will soon. The plan, in this order, is to:
- Revamp the site's features and appearance
- Get a reliable content management system in place, re-write the site's content, and re-establish the ability of certain users to update the site
- Additional upgrades such as a smartphone layout.
I've got college and a job to work around, so this is all slow in coming, but we'll get there eventually.

I haven't tried the main site on my Palm Centro, but the forum works great on it; it gives me a streamlined text-based version of the forum. Quite nice.

So it begins. I know there are tons of bugs already, but please be patient while I go through the site and fix everything. I've got a mid-term on Tuesday, so a lot won't get done until then.

It's not completely loading for me. I'm not getting the fence background In Firefox 3.0.11 at all and the SDCFans logo at the top is still the coaster loop without the leather patch look.
I pulled it up in Camino, and it looks terrific in its entirety.

That sounds like a caching issue. You might have to refresh a few times to get the new images to load. There are still a few display bugs to fix though, like the heading on the forum, the page alignment in chrome, and a few other things though. Definitely should have waited until after the mid-term to start this, but at least things are finally rolling again.

Just like Silver Dollar City, you believe in progress, and I think the new layout will include some nifty tweaks. This website truly is the best place to get all of your unofficial information about our favorite attraction. Thanks! ;D

Did you change the SDCFans label in the upper left corner of the forum, or have I missed that?

That's funny you should bring that up, because I keep visiting this forum every couple of hours, or so and the top left hand label has gone through three different variations! :o

Ha ha, yeah, I've been messing with it tonight. I might mess with it a little more still. More slight forum changes are on the way as well.
