Uh, yeah, deja vu...

This "Kingdom Wealth Builders LLC" tried to buy GP at auction in 2011
http://bransontrilakesnews.com/news_free/article_e1842594-a418-11e0-829c-001cc4c03286.html

A few months later, after they couldn't actually shake out the money, it sold to someone else for $6.5 million
http://bransontrilakesnews.com/news_free/article_71e92e40-eec9-11e0-95e0-001cc4c03286.html

And now Kingdom is back a few years later to try again? Do they have the money this time? Who was the idiot to pay $6.5 million only to do nothing with the property and sell for over a million less after a few years? I'm not holding my breath for anything good to come here anytime soon.

Wasn't it someone that owned some Ripley's and whatnot.

I can't be the only one that thinks a Great Wolf Lodge or Kalahari would go over VERY WELL in Branson

Even though I would never spend the money on Great Wolf Lodge, Your'e right one in the Branson area, close or in town would be a good hit..

I'm ready for anything to happen to it. Such a huge, prime piece of property going to waste all these years... it's been a damn shame.

I'm really not optimistic about this company in particular, but if they can at least get to work and maybe get a few concerts booked, then that's something.

Branson screams for a massive indoor waterpark. Cabin fever getaways would keep it slammed on weekends in winter. I personally would like a WilderNess in the Smokies that has indoor and outdoor.

The market has flown past what Grand Country offers.

This would be a horrible  location for it, traffic wise. I hope the proposed one for across the Celebration City property takes flight.

I also think Sight and Sound should develop an American History based show theater also that does what their biblical show does.  I'd put one here and in Williamsburg area.

Thats an interesting idea.. BUT IF it was based on acutual historical facts.. You would have people screaming!  Racism, favoratism, political corruption, and anything else that sombody/anybody could cry about..

Think about the crap we are seeing everyday now..  MOST of it is History related..  Racism?,  Rebel Flag?, National Monuments?  Names of Football teams (indian related).. "Dixie" Stampede,  Also they changed their Dixie show a couple of years ago..   The list goes on and on..... ::) ::)

Not wanting to to start an arguement, this is my opinion... Great Idea...  But lots of red flags. OH NO!! Red?? as in communist? is that a racial thing???   LOL>>>>.........

They already cover something that is 'controversial' with their Biblical productions. This isn't California

No, this isnt Calif..    But that would not stop the controversial issue that people would come up with nationwide...

Of course we are talking about something that doesnt exist and probably wont.. ::) ::)

Interesting. Before Wonders of Wildlife finally opened I would have said a sure fire home run.  Now?  That puts 2 huge aquariums within an hour of each other.  I can see it being a great fit, but wondering how much the two will compete with each other.

They won’t compete against each other.  Branson tourists only view Springfield as a pass thru town and if the tourists are just on 44 passing thru they might stop in Springfield but not go on down to Branson.

Honestly, I drive through Springfield on they way to St. Louis and to Branson and I didn't know about their awesome aquarium. So I am that person that Swoosh is talking about.

The nice thing about this type of attraction is it will be another that you can visit all year.

Still haven't been to WOL. The only reason my family ever stepped foot in Springfield was to visit the Bass Pro. Most families don't think to stop in another city on the way to Branson, and even if they did, here is one less reason they feel the need to do so.

This is going to be a big hit, and will add to the mass of truly substantial attractions in Branson. I'm a little sad they never figured out how to get the palace going again as a venue, but this is probably the best case scenario going forward.

I’m not sure how one could drive anywhere near Springfield and not know about wonders of wildlife. There are billboards everywhere. We love it. Bought season passes.

I’m not against it but it will be quite expensive. Probably another attraction we won’t visit because of the cost.

Thoughts...

46,000sf is rather small these days. Sadly, once you have been to The Georgia Aquarium, all others in the states fail to compare and one has to keep an open mind about respective markets. Otherwise, one has to traverse the globe to find peers.

The Boardwalk? Hopefully this mirrors Parrot Island in Pigeon Poop. Replace the Big Wheel(Since The Track has the former Navy Pier one)with a 300 to 400 ft. Star Flyer and we 'n bidniss.

I wonder how this will tie into the Grand Palace proposed expansion ? They were going for some kind of tourist trap boardwalk experience. BTW I just got back from Asbury Park NJ and The Stone Pony. Now that is some authentic Boardwalk stuff. Not fake fantasy stuff.

Seems like the current owners are leaning toward the aquarium concept. Here's more info from KY3:

Like almost any other project in town...

they want tax incentives,
free land,
"give me this, Give me that".!
More free stuff..

YEAH!!   we will build that..!

They aren't asking for "free land", they are asking for permission to build into the ROW for their giant octopus thing that will interact with the sidewalk. This is something that Branson has encouraged developers to do as part of the Spirit of 76 project.

Tax incentives are a no-brainer here. On a macro level, they get abused a lot, but if you want big, unique developments you have to help them along. They are taking a bigger risk vs. someone building a walmart or a hotel. If this gets built, everyone will benefit from the increased traffic. You can't really say the same about most general development (although developers certainly try to).

Shave, I understand very well what your saying, and what they are asking/requesting....

It just seems everytime something major is proposed they builders want money, incentives, tax breaks, and special considerations.

The article said the octopus would be within 10ft of 76. .  that is too close, especially if it s a moving display... it will distract drivers, regardless of what they say... If it is that BIG, we can see it in the parking lot...!!

As far a bigger development, I just dont agree with it..
IF you have a money making project, get your financing and build it.  A money maker will pay its own way...
If  your not sure? raise a couple million dollars and ask for breaks and incentives, if the project fails your not out any money, take the deduction, and you can move on to the next "project"

Just the way I fell about it, My opinion..  No disagreements, no argruments.
